Here you will find information on important upcoming events that you will need to know for this month. This is a great tool that provides our students and parents with valuable knowledge on a timely basis.

Lewis and Clark and CAPS (Center for Advanced Professional Studies) will be at SCHS on Monday, September 16th and Tuesday, September 17th to present to Sophomores and Juniors about their programs and how to apply for the 2025-2026 school year.

• Monday September 16th - All Sophomores in Auditorium for AIP for L&C/CAPS Presentation
• Tuesday September 17th - All Juniors in Auditorium for for AIP for L&C/CAPS Presentation

Each year we host a Senior Parent Night in which we provide Seniors and their parents with important information for seniors to prepare for this school year. It will be held in the auditorium at SCHS on Wednesday, September 25th at 6:00pm. Please see below flyer.

Freshman should be using this time to research possible colleges and post-high school career opportunities. Consider having a meeting with your counselor in the coming months to discuss any questions about possible careers. Establish a study routine that is easy to maintain to set yourself up for future success.

Sophomore year will look a lot like Freshman year. Continue to develop and strengthen the studies habits you developed in Freshman year. It is a good idea to take a Practice ACT Test to gain experience with the format. These can be found on the ACT website.

Juniors should have a meeting with your counselor to check in and make sure you are on track for graduation. Also use this time to delve into education and career goals for your future. It is recommended for Juniors to take the ACT in September or October and to use these scores as a benchmark of strengths and weaknesses.

Seniors should be meeting with your counselors to to confirm all graduation requirements will be met. Be aware of upcoming college and FAFSA application deadlines. Seniors need to take advantage of every opportunity to learn about their chosen career or use this time to explore possible career choices.
