Message from the High School Health Office
9th Grade Postural Screening Notification
Our school will begin our annual Postural Screening in March.
M.G.L. c.71, s.57 has required all public school systems in the Commonwealth to provide postural screening to all students in grades 5–9.The purpose of the Postural Screening is to identify early signs of potential spinal problems. This is not a diagnostic service, but rather a program to identify those young people who should have further medical evaluation. Parents/guardians will be notified if a referral is necessary.
*All Parents and Guardians have the right to opt their child out of any of the screenings by submitting a written request. Please email me if you have any questions, concerns or wish to opt your child out of the postural screening. llavery@lunenburgschools.net

They will be at the boy's basketball games on Tuesday, February 4 selling 50/50 raffle tickets. Half of the raffle proceeds go to Lunenburg's Best Buddies chapter, and the other half goes to one lucky winner! Weekend Food Kits
Weekend food kits are available through Bright Eyed. The Food Kits are designed for K-12 students. The students receive breakfast and dinner (5 meals), and 6 snacks each weekend. The Food Kits are delivered to the schools, where the school nurse or guidance counselor discreetly puts the kits into the student’s backpack each Friday.
If your student would benefit from participating in this program, please email Katie McGuire RN in the LMS Health Office at kmcguire@lunenburgschools.net
Lions Club Recycle Challenge
The Lunenburg Lions Club is participating in the TREX recycling challenge. The challenge is to collect 1,000 lbs. of plastic that would otherwise end up in the landfill. The plastic is recycled into TREX products and the Lions Club will receive a beautiful TREX bench if they can reach their goal.
Plastic that is acceptable is clean, dry grocery bags, bread bags, bubble wrap, plastic shipping envelopes, cereal bags, salt, pallet or wood wrapping, newspaper bags, ice bags and the like.
We can all do our part to help save our environment. Plastic can be dropped off at the donation boxes located at Lunenburg Middle High School lobby. There are other collection boxes located at the food pantry at TC Passions and Ritter.
