Summer Term - 6th June 2024
Message from the Executive Headteacher
Dear Parents/Carers
I hope you enjoyed a well deserved break over the half term and are now looking forward to arguably the busiest of all the half terms in school.
Aspiration for the future is so important for our children. I'm pleased that so many of you will be coming into school next week for the HPP aspiration week to share your different roles and jobs which will interest and hopefully inspire the children. As part of the week, children will be able to come to school dressed as their future role on Friday 14th June with the exception of 3G and 3S who will be dressing up on Thursday 13th.
This half term is one of transition and HPP new class morning will be Monday 1st July. Some of the year 6 pupils will spend time at their new school and we will welcome year 2 for the morning. The current year 3 children will spend time with their new classmates following the year 3 class mix that is being finalised currently. Parents will be given the class list on that day so they can share the excitement with their child.
As you know following the HJS Ofsted inspection in March 2023, the school was graded as good but the team had reason to believe that it may be outstanding if a full inspection was carried out. HJS is now back in the window for that full inspection and we are awaiting the phone call to give us 24 hours notice, this revisit will happen before April 2025. HJS is absolutely ready for this revisit and I know the staff and pupils will show the team what a fantastic school this is.
Yesterday the HJS athletics team represented the school at the borough sports held at St Mary's University. Mr James said that the children were of course exemplary and showed such determination and resilience. Please see below for further details and pictures but a big thank you to Miss Farrell and Mrs Fraser for organising this event and driving the children.
As you know we are in the process of moving the systems in school to Arbor, please look out for a welcome email from Arbor and follow the simple instructions to log in. This will soon replace parenthub and parent pay and will be much easier for you to manage.
Finally thank you again to Wendy Glynn for making the beautiful hanging baskets outside the school office. As always - they look lovely and we are very thankful for all of your hard work.
Have a wonderful weekend.
Ms H Lockey

HJS Sporting Achievements - Borough Sports
Yesterday, 4 boys and 4 girls from year 6 represented Hampton Junior School at the Borough Sports event at St Mary’s College, Twickenham. Everyone performed exceptionally well, with Teddy winning a gold medal for the boys furthest vortex throw, and Jacob a gold medal for boys quickest sprinter- both in the large schools category.
Congratulations to all the children who took part, whose sportsmanship and behaviour was a credit to our school.
