Welcome to Our School Newsletter
It has been a successful half term with many achievements made by our students in their academics and extracurricular activities.
We have also had a great start to exams season - we wish all our students sitting their exams this summer the very best of luck, and we are keeping them in our prayers.
We look forward to seeing you all back after the half term.
God bless.

YEAR 9 FOOTBALL VICTORY
"We played against Anglo European school, we went 2-0 up in the first half with goals from David and Richard. Anglo-European pulled one back but St Bons grabbed a quick third goal through Uriah.
Incredibly proud of the boys who have been remarkable all season. They’ve shown ability and resilience throughout and thoroughly deserve their success. It’s a pleasure coaching them." ~ Mr Firth
HIGHLIGHTS FROM THIS HALF TERM
Visitors from Anna Freud Centre and Hong Kong schools
They met with Ms Roddy, the Senior Mental Health Lead and a variety of staff and students to learn about the school’s approach to well-being and mental health.
Year 13 Science Experiment
They were investigating habituation; snails will desensitise to touch stimulus the more times you touch it.
They had to time how long it took for the snail to re-emerge from its shell after being touched with the cotton bud, over time, this time decreased and they eventually don't even flinch after being touched.
Brentwood Sports Studies Trip
They had to navigate their way around Thorndon Country Park and Weald Park using maps and compasses. The total distance covered was 14 km which is around 35, 000 steps.
They encountered many aspects of nature, demonstrating fantastic behaviour and a newfound appreciation for the countryside.
Migrants Mass
Bishops, clergy and parishioners from different dioceses in London came to celebrate the contribution migrants make to the community. This Mass was a show of unity and the beauty of diversity.
Our students not only served but collaborated with St Antony's Primary School and St Angela's Ursuline to provide the music for the Mass.
“This was a really beautiful mass, showcasing how our different cultures unify us. It was also an honour to be a part of this occasion and alter serve.” ~ Charles, Year 11
'I Am & I Can Be' EY Programme
Students visited the EY office and spent the morning networking with EY staff. They also worked on a brief where they had to design and market a bar of chocolate.
Our students agreed that the three sessions made them feel more confident about networking and professionally conducting themselves.
Coronation Posters and Newspaper Reports
Take a glimpse at the extraordinary creations by Heeten from 7 Wall and Jaylen from 7 Health. Well done Boys!
HISTORY TRIPS
History University Trip
Year 12B History visited the University of Westminster for a Study Trip, getting a taster into what it would be like to study History at university level!
Students took part in a lecture and seminar on American history, linking to their current studies, and working both individually and in groups to build knowledge and analyse historical evidence. They had access to primary source material, exploring Chinese Propaganda posters from Chairman Mao’s leadership. It made such a difference to see the real thing! It was great to have our Year 12s working collaboratively not only with each other but with students from other schools to confidently share ideas and make detailed inferences about the past.
Year 12 History Trip to National Army Museum
Our Year 12 History students visited the National Army Museum, to support their learning about India’s Road to Independence.
Our students attended a workshop where they examined the social and political environment during Britain’s early involvement with India. They had the opportunity to handle primary-source material and use objects to make a verdict on whether this conflict can be called Indian Mutiny, Rebellion or a War of Independence. It was great to see our Year 12s work together and debate using evidence to make claims about the past, they got to experience the work of real historians.
Year 10 Visit to the Museum of London Docklands
Year 10 visited the Executions exhibit at the Museum of London Docklands to support their learning for the Crime and Punishment GCSE Module.
Students engaged with primary material relating to executions over time; it was fascinating to see these artefacts, from the garments King Charles I wore on his execution day and petitions of Mercy to sketches of dissected bodies and a real Gibbet Cage where people were hung after execution.
They had fun participating in interactive activities at the Museum, going around both individually and in groups to explore the gallery spaces.
