No Outside Food and Drinks
Falcons, please help us keep our Hillcrest community clean. There have been a significant amount of drinks like Dunkin, Dutch, and Starbucks. Please remember that outside beverages are NOT allowed on our campus. They are very difficult to clean up if spilled in the classroom or outside. Thank you for keeping our Hillcrest campus clean!

Yearbook Pre-Order
This years 2024-2025 yearbook is on a pre-sale! The yearbooks are $35 if you order during the pre-sale. After, they will cost $45. This year's yearbook will include an opportunity for you to order "call-outs" Make sure to order your yearbooks before January so you get the sale!
7th Grade News
Math: This week in math, students will be learning all things about diameter, circumference, and all about circles!
Science: This week, all 7th graders are taking the unit 2 & 3 district assessment, and then moving too climate and weather. Students will be expected to collect and explore conditions needed to create severe weather.
8th Grade News
Social Studies:This week, our 8th grade social studies students are diving into the Articles of Confederation to understand why this first framework of government was created and its key strengths and weaknesses. Through interactive activities, they’re experiencing firsthand the challenges of a weak central government and discovering the reasons it eventually gave way to the U.S. Constitution. This hands-on approach helps students connect with the foundational steps in American history in an engaging and meaningful way!
Science: Science is covering DNA structure and genetic mutations can lead to cancer and how advancements In DNA technology treat cancer.
ELA: In ELA students are reading passages on risk and learning how to form informative writing skills as well as working on vocabulary.
Math: In math students will be moving onto unit 4 solving equations they will learn how to solve all kinds of mathematical equations and will be quizzed and tested over the unit to show their skills.
Elective News
STEM I:They are practicing their coding skills and will be doing a engineer career plan!
STEM II: Still working hard on a new upcoming project!
Art: Art 1 is working on one point perspective drawings and art 2 is doing graphite animal drawings.
Project Math: Project math will be presenting the catapults they have been working on!

Band
After-School Band:
Join us every Tuesday from 3:00 to 4:00 PM in Room 805 for after-school band practice. This is a great opportunity for students to practice, store their instruments, or catch up on any missing assignments that need to be recorded. This is for all band students!

Cross Country
Hillcrest's Cross Country team is still accepting runners to join them this season! There is an upcoming meet on October 29th at Deer Valley Middle School. Athletes, remember to register through RegisterMyAthlete.com. Everyone is welcome and it's a great way to make new friends!

Volleyball
Volleyball Tryouts and Volleyball Camp
Interested in trying out for the Hillcrest Girls or Boys Volleyball Team! Join us for the official VOLLEYBALL CAMP October 28th, 29th and 30th 3-5 pm COST: $50 paid online. Register My Athlete has to be cleared with physical and concussion certificate prior to attending the Volleyball camp and/or tryouts. Any questions please email courtney.biller@dvusd.org

Wrestling
Wrestling season kicks off on October 28th, with practices starting at 6:15 AM. Students of all experience levels are welcome! Don't forget to come out and try for our awesome Hillcrest Wrestling team.
Boo Grams
Boo grams are lollipops you can buy for your friends and/or teachers. They are $1.00 per boo gram, they will be sold under the ramada. They will be sold from 7:45 to 8:10. They will also be sold during all 4 lunches. They will be sold on Tuesday October 15th through October 29th. If your student is interested in sending one of their friends one send them with a dollar cash!
Pickleball Club!
Pickleball club will resume after volleyball season ends.
Film Club
If you're an experienced filmmaker, or new to the concept, Film Club is an amazing activity for you! Come join the Film Club from 3:00-4:00 pm every Tuesday in room 404 for the best fun you can have!
