South MS Friday Blast
February 21, 2025
We hope everyone had a fantastic and refreshing 4-day weekend! Mother Nature surprised us by sending another round of snow to our south - but decided to include us just enough to enjoy a beautiful winter wonderland yesterday afternoon and a shortened day today!
The Book Fair is still going strong in the South MS library through next Wednesday, February 26th! Plus, tonight is Family Night at the Fair from 6:00 - 7:00 PM, so stop by South and discover some great new reads.
Our talented strings students had an exciting week! Musicians from across the district came together to showcase their hard work at StringFest on Wednesday at the high school.
As winter sports wrap up, the boys' basketball team is gearing up for their final game of the season next week—let’s cheer them on! Additionally, the Pennridge Middle School ice hockey team has their championship game next Thursday and Hatfield Ice! With spring just around the corner, spring sports will be starting before we know it.
Wishing everyone a wonderful Friday and a great weekend ahead! 🎉

Spread More Smiles
February 17th was National Random Act of Kindness Day and here at South Middle School we celebrated all week long! Spread More Smiles is a student-driven, Kindness Initiative. Students involved are a part of Ms. Kramer’s lunch bunch. Students worked diligently to create designs for stickers, keychains, bracelets & t-shirts. Last week, Mrs. Scholz invited the Kindness Crew down to the STEM room to make the items. Under the guidance of Mrs. Scholz, Ms. Kramer and four incredible peer mentors, a total of 12 students put these items and a hand-written Random Act of Kindness, into envelopes. These envelopes were hidden throughout the entire school for students to find and complete the act of kindness.
During lunch this week, students told members of the Kindness Crew what act of kindness they completed, received a ballot slip, and entered our raffle for the chance to win a free T-Shirt, all custom created by South’s Kindness Crew!
The three winners were:
6th Grade – Kamsiyochi “Kamsi” Ukwuoma
7th Grade – Skylar Brown
8th Grade – Michael Brown
A huge thank you to everyone at South Middle School for your participation, support, and willingness to spread more smiles throughout our community!
