UB Update
June 2024
Academic Year Program
School's Out for Summer!
Congratulations on making it through the 2023-2024 school year!
Report cards for the 4th marking period will distributed on June 13th.
Remember, if you receive a D/F grade or are below a 2.5 GPA for the quarter you will be placed on Academic Improvement Status (AIS). Per your AY Contract, students on AIS must meet with Upward Bound twice per quarter until improvement is observed. Students placed on AIS for 4th quarter grades will need to meet with Upward Bound during the 1st quarter next year.
Student and Staff Recognition
Congratulations Class of 2024!
On Saturday, May 4th, TC Kamron graduated from WVU Potomac State College with his Associate's Degree.
On Thursday, May 23rd, TC Peyton graduated from Frostburg State University with her Bachelor's Degree.
Financial Aid Planning
FAFSA Processing
You should save your FAFSA summary for your own reference. Please make sure to note your SAI (Student Aid Index). Students should begin receiving financial aid offers from their chosen colleges/universities soon, if you haven't received on already. Please feel free to schedule a meeting to discuss your aid offer with UB as aid offer letters are often confusing.
MDCAPS
If applicable, students will have submit requested documentation. Students that are eligible for the Guaranteed Access Grant and Community College Promise scholarship MUST upload a copy of their transcript to MDCAPS.
Important: Students will not be considered for the Guaranteed Access (GA) or Educational Assistance (EA) grants unless a Maryland institution of higher education is listed on the FAFSA and students will not be considered for the Maryland Community College Promise Scholarship unless a Maryland community college is listed on the FAFSA.
