Dear Green Hope High School Families,

Homecoming is right around the corner! Please make sure you review the schedule of events below and purchase tickets to the Homecoming Dance in advance. Tickets will not be sold at the door.

Please remind your students to use the SMART Lunch time wisely. Students should plan to eat for one half of the lunch and use the other half to attend tutorial sessions, attend club meetings, or complete schoolwork. This built-in academic time is important for students to stay on track with completing assignments and to receive additional support from their teachers. Teachers will track student attendance to Tutorial sessions in Powerschool.

Notes:

Doors open at 7:00 pm and close at 8:00 pm. No students will be admitted after 8:00pm and there is no re-entry after leaving. Due to space capacity, only GHHS students in good standing are allowed to attend.

Homecoming is an exciting week and includes Spirit Days, a Pep Rally, and Football Game. Please review the schedule below.

Student and Staff safety is most important to us so we would like to remind you of the following:

• Students may not enter the building until the first bus arrives (typically around 6:35 am). Please do not drop them off in carpool prior to 6:35 am.
• Please do not drop students off on Carpenter Upchurch Road. This is very dangerous (especially when it gets dark) and holds up the traffic flow for other carpool riders and our student drivers.
• There is NO vehicular traffic allowed in the Bus Driveway (by the outdoor basketball courts) other than staff and buses. The driveway is narrow and the turns are sharp. Please do not turn into the driveway and/or drop off your students in that driveway at all.

Families and individuals who were approved to volunteer in the 2023-24 school year will receive a reminder email on Sept. 5 about the simple volunteer renewal process for the 2024-25 school year. Review volunteer renewal details here.

The Green Hope Marching Band, along with Green Level & Cary HS Marching Band will host a friendly preview show on Saturday, September 14th at 7pm at Green Level HS. Admission is free, canned food donation is suggested. Come see some of the best marching bands in the area perform excerpts from their 2024 field shows in a great evening of camaraderie!

Picture Day is right around the corner! CADY will be set up at our school on 9/25/24 to take student photos for the yearbook. Don't forget to dress for the occasion. Keep the memories alive! Senior Lunch Presentations - Student Services is offering the following sessions for seniors during lunch in September. These are for students only.

• September 9, Lunch A in Auditorium - College Application: Getting Started

• September 16, Lunch A in Auditorium - Essay Writing Workshop w/ UNC Admissions

• September 18, Lunch A in Auditorium - Searching and Applying for Scholarships

Senior Conferences - Senior Conference sign-ups went out to seniors in the Student Services Senior Canvas page this past week. Appointments will start this week. Please encourage your student to sign up for their meeting. These meetings are for students only!

Senior Transcripts & Rank - Senior Rank and transcripts will not be finalized until late September. All seniors will receive a copy of their updated transcript at that time. Students will need to use this updated information on their college applications.

Starting Wednesday, September 11th, students may schedule appointments to meet with their assigned counselor. Students may use the online scheduling system on the Counselor Appointments Page to schedule an appointment. Seniors, please do not use the counselor appointment links to schedule senior conferences.

• Linda Brannan is our Financial Aid Advisor at Green Hope High School. She is able to meet with students and/or parents virtually starting September 9th. You can schedule an appointment to meet with Linda Brannan using the following link: Ms. Brannan's Financial Aid Appointment link.
