Student Engagement Survey Results
The results of the Student Engagement Survey for the 2024-25 school year are in! This yearly survey provides us with meaningful feedback from our students. This feedback is used to drive our efforts to continuously improve the student experience with the goal of providing our Timberwolves with a school that challenges them to think, supports their social development, and prepares them for the future.
The survey questions changed this year, so the results have set a new baseline for us. Survey items were scored on a 1-5 scale with 1 being "Strongly Disagree" and 5 being "Strongly Agree".
Our overall score at Lake Denoon was 3.98.
Top 3 Survey Items
- I have at least one friend at this school (4.72)
- Learning is important at my school. (4.26)
- My teachers challenge me to think. (4.21)
Top 3 Opportunities for Improvement
- Students treat me with respect at this school. (3.51)
- I set goals and track my progress. (3.65)
- I feel like the learning I am doing is meaningful and relevant. (3.67)
Last week, we held listening sessions for students to provide additional feedback. We are grateful for the students that joined us during lunch to share their ideas around what we should continue doing and what we could start doing to further enhance the student experience.
In the coming weeks, the Lake Denoon leadership team will do a deep dive into the results and create action steps with the goal of further improving the student experience at Lake Denoon.

Timberwolf Study Den Sign-Up
Timberwolf Study Den is an after-school club held on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Mrs. Rappis' room from 3:05 to 4:00 PM. It provides a quiet, focused environment for students to complete homework, with the possibility of receiving additional help. Each session is supervised by two advisors, along with National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) volunteers, who are available to assist when they are familiar with the content. Club Expectations: If students are interested, they should fill out this form with the date(s) they plan on attending so that advisors know how many students to expect. There's also a spot to indicate whether or not they will be looking for help with any homework. This will help us to pair up students with a teacher or older student who may know the content best. If you have any questions regarding this club, please reach out to Nikki Kamperschroer at nicole.kamperschroer@muskegonorway.org.
