Hello Levelland Lobos,
As educators, we are so fortunate to get to do what we do. We have the opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of our students everyday. This influence can never be erased and the students will remember you. You are making a difference!

15 and the Mahomies Readers
Levelland ABC, Capitol, and South librarians are encouraging students to read in Patrick Mahomes' READ FOR 15 program that started last week. This program challenges students to read daily for 15 minutes at home, lasting for 15 weeks (ending December 19th). Our librarians #expectexcellence and you see can our librarians encouraging a love for reading by reading with them at school, but they are asking parents and grandparents to take part in helping at home. They have registered all students and sent home the Mahomies Reading Chart sheet to help with keeping track. We love new Library Program ideas that encourage our students to read!

The Energy Bus
Levelland ISD sends out a huge thank you to Assistant Principal Mandy Leach for reading The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon to 5th-grade students. This book reminds students to create a positive vision to help them succeed in school. This fable shows children how to overcome negativity, bullies, and everyday challenges to be their best. LMS #expectsexcellence and wants the best from every child every day! Thank you Mrs. Leach!
LIFE Grant Keeps on Giving
ABC First-graders in Mrs. Tammy Branch's class were caught strengthening their technology and digital literacy skills. Mrs. Branch #expectsexcellence and provides students with fun ways to learn new topics and concepts they're studying. Today was no exception, as her students were completely engaged in using their iPads to wrap up a lesson in reading. Mrs. Branch says, "Notice the iPad stands. The LIFE Grant gave me these iPad Stands four years ago, and we are still using them. These stands have been a game changer for students, as they can focus more on absorbing the content and less on balancing their devices. I still thank LIFE Grant for this gift!" This is so exciting to see our young students learning with technology! Thank you, Mrs. Branch!
Don't you wish for something in your classroom that you can't afford? Here is the perfect opportunity to get some financial aid!

South Grandparent's Day
It's always a great day when grandparents get to attend school! South Elementary celebrated Grandparents Day Friday morning. We so appreciate the great turnout and all the love!
Hockley County Ag Producers Shrimp Boil
Levelland High School was well represented by our FFA Officers at the Hockley County Ag Producers Annual Shrimp Boil. Thank you to the Levelland Chamber for inviting these future farmers. If we're lucky, they will all live right here in Hockley County after high school and be extraordinary leaders! We were so glad to see our LISD administration attending, as so many of our LISD families are in the Ag Business. Thank you!
2022 Graduate Brag!
We love to brag about our LHS graduates! We were so pleased to hear that 2022 graduate Ashley Austin continued with FFA and earned her American FFA Degree after high school. While at LHS, Ashley was a Hockley County Ag Ambassador, and very active in all aspects of FFA, as well as NHS & YELL. To obtain this degree, however, Ashley had to earn the State FFA Degree, keep records, and earn 50 hours of community service while attending university in an agricultural education program. Less than 1% of FFA Members are able to obtain this degree, and we are so proud that Ashley has grown and achieved in her agricultural career! Congratulations Ashley, keep on striving for excellence!
Nursery Rhyme Olympics!
ABC Kindergarteners on the Purple Team (Mrs. Saenz, Mrs. Black, Mrs. VanGilder, Mrs. Jost, & Ms. Diana) completed Nursery rhyme olympics after learning the rhymes. The games included Jack Be Nimble, in which they had to jump over a candlestick. Little Miss Muffet where they crawled like the spider. Humpty Dumpty and they carried an egg and did not break him. Jack and Jill in which they fetched pails of water. Little Bo Peep and they had to find her missing sheep. What a fun way to tie in learning with current events! Great job ladies! https://www.facebook.com/levellandabc/videos/1244512213369390
South Third Grade Tea-Party!
South Elementary third-graders enjoyed writing Par-Tea on Friday. They were challenged to write constructed responses to fun questions. Mrs. Gomez #expectsexcellence and always promotes high-quality student assignments that develop reading, writing, and thinking skills, which carries over to other subjects, too! These kids send out a huge thank you to HTeaO for donating the tea for their writing Par-Tea! We love that these students are being challenged to write and that they are connecting with our community!
