Internship Classes + Programs Available for Next Year's Juniors and Seniors!
During CB South's program planning window, this year's sophomores and juniors have the exciting opportunity to register for one of two new classes: Principles of Teaching and Community Internship.
Principles of Teaching is a course for future teachers or for students who are actively considering becoming a teacher. Students would learn the principles of teaching and leave South to work alongside a mentor teacher in CBSD, providing help and instruction in the classroom. Community Internship is a course for students who want to "try on" another career. Students would learn the fundamentals of professionalism, leadership, and communication and leave South to work alongside an internship mentor in the career of their choosing.
These two courses and programs are brand new to CB South and are both incredible opportunities for your sons and daughters.
Here are some ways to learn more:
- Check out the attached flyers below.
- Visit this informative webpage: Internship Programs / Teacher Academy Overview
- Contact Will Melvin (wmelvin@cbsd.org) with any questions.

Consider Tax-Deductible Contribution to the CBSD Education Foundation
As we approach the end of the year, the Central Bucks School District Education Foundation invites you to consider making a tax-deductible investment in education. Right now, teachers from schools across the district are submitting grants for programs that directly enhance the learning experiences of your children. Your generous donation will help make this a reality. Every contribution, big or small, helps CBSD educators invest in innovative classroom projects and resources. You can choose to make a gift in honor of a special teacher or student, and we will share that acknowledgement with them. To donate, visit https://cbeducationfoundation.org and email Jackie@cbeducationfoundation.org with any questions.

Financial Aid for College (Seniors)
FAFSA is now open on the US Dept of Education website (studentaid.gov)!! Before you can complete the FAFSA, you must create an FSA ID for both the student and guardian (called a “contributor”). One of the most critical pieces is making sure the STUDENT uses their own PERSONAL email address and the PARENT/GUARDIAN uses their own email address when creating their separate FSA IDs. You MUST NOT create the student account using a Parent/Guardian email address. Parents/guardians should do this process WITH their child as they will need to link their accounts through time-sensitive two-factor authentication emails that are sent while creating the accounts.
Looking for resources to help you through the process of applying for financial aid? Need to learn more about the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid- which is REQUIRED of all financial aid applicants) or GRANT US (PHEAA’S NEW portal for state grants and other financial aid options)? Check out Our Toolkit Helps you Complete the FAFSA | PHEAA to find monthly webinars and other resources to help you through the process!
College Admissions Exams (SAT/ACT) Registration
Many colleges use the SAT or ACT as part of their admissions process. Students should consider taking either the SAT or ACT after they have completed Algebra 2. This will ensure they have covered the Math content that is on these exams. Typically, juniors test in the spring of junior year but every student must determine when they feel most ready.
Registration for the SAT/ACT is directly through the organization’s website (NOT through CBSD/MyPaymentsPlus). Do not wait until the week of the registration deadline (typically the month prior to the test date) to register as the site often crashes or is slow in the days prior to the deadline. To register for these exams, please use these links:
Volunteer Opportunities
Students who are looking to volunteer in our community should check out our Volunteer Opportunities bulletin board in the first-floor student services office (C119). Community service events will be updated throughout the year.
Titan Thespians News
Auditions for this year’s spring musical, Sweeney Todd (School Edition), will take place on Tuesday 12/17 after school. If a student did not attend the informational meeting on 12/3, see Mr. Crea or Mr. Stellino for audition information. Students must register for auditions by Sunday 12/15.

Girls' T&F
The CB South Girls' Indoor Track team got their much-anticipated 2025 season underway last Friday night at Alvernia University. It was a good night for the Titans, who saw early season success across the track and in their field events. Leading the way for the Titans were sophomore distance runner Grace Waibel and senior jumper and captain, Devlyn Faber. Both qualified for the DVGTCA Meet of Champions, not only a great accomplishment, but doing so at the first meet of the season, sets them up for a lot of success this season. In triple jump, Faber jumped a distance of 34 feet and ½ inch, good for a fifth-place finish and a medal. In what turned out to be a stacked and veteran filled 3000m field, sophomore Grace Waibel ran a personal best 11:19.56 just dipping under the MOC qualifying time of 11:20.24. Congrats ladies! Other solid performances were turned in by sophomore sprinter Lizzy Hazel, placing 6th overall in the 60m Dash with a time of 8.36 and sophomore distance runner Taryn Kotsur, who finished 2nd overall in the 800m with a time of 2:30.
Next Up: The Girls Track Team looks to continue their early season success at their second meet, this Friday, December 13th, hosted by Lehigh University.
