Please allow plenty of time for your arrival for the 5 PM ceremony. Seniors should arrive at 3:30 PM. They must have a parking pass to access the senior parking on the east side (bus garage) of Jackson Memorial Middle School. Those passes are available during cap and gown distribution.

- Guest parking is only available at the Sauder Elementary entrance, therefore you might find it more convenient to access Fife Stadium from Arlington Road to Mudbrook Street.
- Gates open at 3:30 PM. You may want to sit on the side of the stadium your graduate is on. Home side: Senior class officers and graduates A-Landon; Away side: graduates Lenkey-Zupp.
- Guests MUST BE SEATED AND NOT STANDING ALONG THE FENCE.
- Handicap seating is available on the home side of Fife Stadium only and some seating in the Sauder end zone.
WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Commencement is scheduled to start at 5 PM. Administrators evaluate weather conditions in the days leading up to the ceremony. In the event of inclement weather, parents and families will be contacted via text, email, phone as the district would normally communicate important information. That information will be shared on social media as well.
The immediate options are to delay commencement until 7 PM on Saturday in the event of inclement weather, or to postpone commencement until Sunday, May 19 at a time that is weather conducive.
END OF SCHOOL YEAR DATES
To make the end of the school year a little easier for parents, here is a list of important dates that affect most students at Jackson High School or Jackson Memorial Middle School. The elementary schools will communicate elementary school Field Day dates. The last day of school release times will be communicated closer to those dates.
LAST DAY OF SCHOOL SCHEDULES
ELEMENTARY BUILDINGS: We continue our tradition of the last day (May 24) of school being a half day. Students will be dismissed at 12:20 PM with the intent that buses exit the parking lot at 12:25 PM. Parent pick-up will begin at 12:15 PM. Please note we will not serve breakfast on May 24.
JACKSON MEMORIAL MIDDLE SCHOOL: JMMS will have a half-day of school on May 24. We will begin dismissal from classes at 11:25 AM and buses will roll out at approximately 11:30am. Please make appropriate plans regarding your child departing from school early that day. (Via school bus or by parent pick-up is the safest way to depart JMMS.)
JACKSON HIGH SCHOOL: Students may leave once they have no exams left for that day. If they need to ride a bus they need to stay in the Commons until dismissal at 11:15 AM.

JACKSON LOCAL SEEKS TO SERVE CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES
Within the intent of the federal statutes (Rehabilitation Act of 1973-section 504 and Individuals with Disabilities Education Act IDEA-public law 105-17), the Jackson Local School District continues its effort to locate and identify children with disabilities from birth through age 21. Children with disabilities have physical, emotional, and or mental impairments that may require special education. Public schools provide free and appropriate education regardless of a child’s disability. However, before these children can be served, they must be found. Many of these children are not visible because they may not function in the community’s mainstream, and many are preschoolers. Parents may not realize that programs and services are available through their school district or from agencies in their community. If you are aware of a child who may need a special education program or services, contact Kathy Brand, Jackson Local School District’s Special Programs Director with any question you may have regarding the above notice at 330-830-8006.
