The number of teams is dependent on the number of girls who sign up to play. All players are given the opportunity to practice and play in each game, no matter their ability.
This league is played in partnership with the Monrovia Youth Basketball League. Playing in this league in the past has been a successful experience, as it is a well-run organization.
Practices will begin after fall break, the week of October 21st and will be held from 6:30 - 7:45 pm at Wheeler Elementary School, located at 5700 Meadowood Drive, Speedway.
The tentative practice schedule is:
3rd & 4th grade players will practice on Mondays and Wednesdays
5th & 6th grade players will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
Games are scheduled to take place over the course of 7 Saturdays from late-October thru the 2nd weekend of December and are played in Monrovia, a short 25 minute drive from Speedway. With enough interest, our future goal is to have games held in our Speedway facilities, however at this time we are limited on available gym space.
Registration is offered through Speedway Parks and Recreation and can be found at speedwayparks.recdesk.com. Players in this league receive a jersey as part of their $80 registration fee. Registration will close on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
