A Note from our Principal, Mrs. Walk
Hello Trebein Families,
I'm feeling a little overwhelmed at how few days of school are left and how much we still have to do! There are many exciting activities taking place in the month of May, and I hope your children create some wonderful memories.
Please check our Lost and Found if you ever have a chance. We have A LOT of jackets, sweatshirts, lunchboxes, water bottles, and assorted other items.
Your children have grown in so many ways this year. It is very fulfilling to be part of their journey.
I value your insight and welcome any suggestions you might have for making Trebein a better place. You can always email me at lisa.walk@gocreek.org or call me directly at 937-458-2322.
Thank you for sharing your sweet children with us!

Counselor's Corner
Last month at Trebein, we focused on our conflict resolution skills as part of our Better Together Character Education Initiative. Conflict is a normal part of life. In order to have strong, healthy, better together relationships, however, we have to know how to resolve conflict in a calm and helpful way.
Classes in Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd grades created a conflict resolution toolbox that included strategies such as apologizing, saying “please stop”, giving your friend space, ignoring if it is a small problem, and asking an adult for help for bigger problems.
Classes in 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades learned about friendship boundaries. Friendship boundaries are lines that separate respectful and fun actions from disrespectful and annoying actions. Examples include fun vs. mean joking, inclusion vs. exclusion, positive vs. negative chit chat, etc. Students practiced identifying behaviors that are on the okay side and not okay side of the friendship boundary. They learned how to deliver an “i message” to communicate their feelings and needs to friends as a calm and helpful way to resolve a conflict.
If you are interested in continuing this conversation at home, here are a few books by author Trudy Ludwig that might be helpful!

Thank You for Giving Back!
Hello Trebein Families!
What a tremendous year it has been in fundraising! I wasn’t sure what to expect in my first year as the Fundraising Chair, but I am blown away at how supportive Trebein families are. From the Back-to-School Supply Box fundraiser to the Fun Run, your commitment to making Trebein a truly special place is inspiring. I want to express my sincere gratitude for supporting the Trebein PTO this year. Because of your contributions, the PTO was able to fund educational programs, field trips, recess equipment, teacher grants, and family events. All of this would not be possible without your help. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your continued support for our kids.

Beavercreek Running Camp Grades K-8 June 20-24th
Hello everyone!
I wanted to send all of you a link to Beavercreek Running/Fitness Camp. Last year we had over 300 runners in grades K-8. This made us the largest running camp in Ohio. We are keeping the cost between $25-$30 (depending on age). RunnersPlus running store is now sponsoring camp which will make it even better. This year we are doing all registration online. If you have a son or daughter that are in grades K-8, I would love to have them come to camp. This is not just a long distance running camp. We also have a track day where we work on sprinting and other track and field events. We also teach them strength circuits and play lots of fun games to help them live a healthy lifestyle. Your child does not have to attend Beavercreek Schools. Please let me know if you have any questions.
