The Knight News
Lake Travis Middle School ~ January 31, 2025
Dear LTMS Parents and Guardians,
On Wednesday evening we hosted our rising 6th grade families as well as our rising 7th and 8th grade families for an information session about course selections for next year. Thank you to the families who were able to join us! If you were unable to attend, no problem! We have shared the presentations with you below.
Rising 7th and 8th Grade Presentation
This week, we observed Holocaust Remembrance Week in various ELA and Social Studies classes. This important time allows us to honor the lives lost during the Holocaust and reflect on the lessons of history. Through age-appropriate discussions, activities, and resources, we aim to foster understanding, compassion, and a commitment to standing against hatred and injustice.
We encourage families to have continued conversations at home about the importance of kindness, tolerance, and standing up for what is right. Together, we can help ensure that the lessons of the past continue to inspire a brighter, more inclusive future.
Go Knights!
Ms. Hudson
LTMS Spelling Bee
The annual LTMS Spelling Bee was held on Tuesday, January 28th, and it was an exciting event with nearly 30 talented students competing! Every participant was incredibly well-prepared, and they truly impressed the judges with their skills. After several intense rounds of spelling, 6th Grader Clara Poreda emerged victorious with the word "accreditation." Clara, along with the amazing runners-up—8th Grader Sufyan Mogal and 7th Grader Alex Tewksbury—will be moving on to the regional spelling bee in the next few weeks. They're one step closer to reaching the prestigious Scripps National Spelling Bee!
An excellent performance by the 6th grade band on Thursday evening!

Your Leadership and Counseling Team
While our campus leadership team works collaboratively with all students and teachers, the following information should help you reach the appropriate administrator or counselor for your child's grade level should a concern or question arise. We are committed to serving our students and appreciate the opportunity to work together with families to support our learners. Towards the start of the new school year, each counselor and Assistant Principal will be assigned new duties to individual grade levels, and we will share that information with families and students at that time. In the interim, please feel free to reach out to any member of our leadership team for assistance.
