Character Word of the Month: Courage
This month, our Capturing Kids’ Hearts (CKH) character word is courage! At Washington Elementary School, we believe courage is about more than just bravery—it’s about standing up for what’s right, trying new things even when they feel challenging, and believing in ourselves.
Throughout the month, students will explore what courage looks like in everyday life, from speaking up for a friend to tackling a tough math problem. We encourage families to talk about courage at home, share personal stories, and celebrate moments when your child shows this important character trait.
Together, let’s help our students build confidence, face challenges with a positive mindset, and develop the courage to be their best selves! 💙💪
School Social Worker Appreciation Week
School Social Worker Appreciation Week is a time to recognize and celebrate the dedicated professionals who support students' well-being, ensuring they have the resources and emotional support needed to thrive in school and beyond. These compassionate individuals play a vital role in bridging the gap between students, families, and educators, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.
A special thank you to Sara Blickenstaff for her unwavering commitment and kindness. Her hard work makes a profound difference in the lives of so many students, offering guidance, encouragement, and hope. This month, we honor her and all school social workers for their invaluable contributions!
