Whether you are returning or joining us for the first time, know that you are an integral part of our Fremd family. Together, we will navigate the challenges and celebrate the successes that come our way.
To our students: Your energy, creativity, and dedication are the heart of our school. Take advantage of the diverse range of programs, clubs, and activities available to you. Get involved, make new friends, and strive to do your best in all your endeavors. Remember, your efforts and attitudes shape the vibrant spirit of our school.
To our families: Your support and partnership are invaluable. We are grateful for your trust and collaboration as we work together to provide the best possible educational experience for your children. Please stay connected with us through our newsletters, school events, and parent-teacher associations.
As we set forth into this new school year, let us all embrace the opportunities it brings with open minds and hopeful hearts. Here’s to a year of growth, discovery, and shared accomplishments!
In the coming days, please be on the lookout for another communication with additional details and logistics for the upcoming school year.
May you and your family enjoy the remainder of the summer, and I look forward to seeing our hallways filled with the energy, enthusiasm, and spirit that make Fremd such a special place. Let’s make this year one to remember by being Mighty, Brave, and Bold in all that we do.

Welcome to the Class of 2028: Freshman Kick-Off
Incoming freshman students are invited and encouraged to “kick-off” their upcoming Fremd experience with a tour and other activities on Tuesday, August 6 from 10:30 am until 12:00 pm. Doors will open at 10:15 am.
This student-only event is where each student will be given a tour of the building ed by a current student, receive class schedules and attend our welcome Pep Rally
Current students will be on hand during the kick-off to answer questions, give directions and help you catch that Viking Pride. The event is for students only and is sponsored by the Viking Advisory and Mentoring Program (VAMP), a program that all Freshman students will participate in during their Fall semester. If there are any questions, please contact student services at 847-755-2630.
Yearbook and ID Photos: August 13 and 14
Student yearbook and I.D. photos will be taken during Wellness classes Tuesday, August 13 and Wednesday, August 14. This photo will be used for all students as their yearbook photo and ID photo. Seniors who did not take their senior formal photo will take that photo during their ID photo session on August 14.
Students are to dress in school-appropriate attire for their photo. Students wearing inappropriate clothing or accessories for their photo will be asked to adjust or retake their photo during the make-up date. Photos will be available for purchase after their portrait is taken.
Online Parent Portal
The Infinite Campus Portal allows parents access to their child’s attendance, schedule, report cards, mid-terms, and grades as posted by teachers, as well as demographic information for the current school year. The program allows for communication between the parent, counselor, and teachers regarding student progress. Families with multiple children will have the ability to see each child’s academic record by selecting a student from the dropdown located at the top of the page.
Parents who have forgotten their Infinite Campus Username or Password recover their information by clicking on the Forgot Your Username or Forgot Your Password located on the Infinite Campus login page. Technology issues can be directed to the Fremd Technology HelpDesk at 847-755-2761.
Students have access to their grades as posted by their teachers through the Infinite Campus Portal. Please note not all teachers post grades on a daily basis. Students and parents do not share a common username and password. Each student has been assigned a username and unique password.
Have you downloaded the Campus Parent App?
If not, please visit the app store on your smart device to download.
Survey Link: Superintendent Search
District 211 is seeking input from parents and community members as part of our search for a new Superintendent following the retirement of Dr. Lisa Small in June 2025.
We value your input! Please complete the brief survey here: https://hyasurvey.com/D211
To change the survey language, use the drop-down menu.
The survey will automatically close at 11:59 p.m. August 20.
Thank you for your support!
Food and Nutrition Services
The food & nutrition services department offers breakfast, lunch, and a la carte options daily. Complete lunch prices range from $2.75 to $3.50, and breakfast is available for $2.00. Menus are online at: https://adc.d211.org/Page/6398
The food service prepayment option is a convenient way to ensure students have funds for meals daily. Credit card payments can be made using the food service payment system at www.myschoolbucks.com. If parents do not have a current MySchoolBucks account, they will need to set up a new account in order to access the system. Once a child’s account is established, parents can set low balance alerts and automatic account replenishment, as well as view purchase history. Funds can also be added to an account by sending a check or cash prepayment to the school cafeteria. Account balances for underclassmen are carried over to the fall.
A parent or guardian may submit an application for free and reduced-price meals by visiting http://d211.schoollunchapp.com or contacting our food service department for a hard copy meal app. A new application must be completed each school year to qualify for meal benefits. If you received a letter in the mail in July stating your child was automatically approved for the meal program, you do not need to complete a meal application for this school year.
Please contact the department with any questions at 847-755-6681.
Student Wellness
September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. In order to advocate positive mental health and provide resources to students, Fremd High School is promoting an awareness campaign at the start of September. The school district has partnered with Erika’s Lighthouse, which promotes positive mental health and how to access resources when in need.
As important as this topic is, we realize it can be difficult for many students to talk about and at times can be upsetting. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your child’s couselor by calling our Student Services office at 847-755-2630 or emailing the counselor directly.
For additional information on this topic, please refer to the Parent Handbook of Childhood and Teen Depression.
Applying to Colleges
With the number of qualified applicants to college increasing annually, students must take care to complete applications in a timely manner. Seniors should schedule conferences with their counselor early in the fall. Counselors will visit Senior English classes at the end of August to be certain that every student is aware of the proper procedures. Some general reminders follow.
Each student should submit applications to a variety of schools. This is necessary for two reasons: first, there are no guarantees on college acceptance and multiple applications provide insurance against disappointments; second, a college choice made early in the fall may not seem as good in the spring. Alternatives need to be available for late changes in circumstances.
District 211 has implemented MaiaLearning, a comprehensive college and career readiness system to support students as they develop their plans after high school. To learn how MaiaLearning supports students post-secondary planning, please watch a short video. MaiaLearning will be used to support students with the common application, transcripts, scholarships and more.
Most applications are submitted electronically. Visit the admissions page of the university to begin an on-line application. We have a tremendous wealth of college information on our website: www.fhs.d211.org and through the Class of 2025 Schoology Course. Please call your counselor for additional help. Our counseling staff is experienced and ready to assist you.
Apply early. Except for admissions at selective schools, most applications should be submitted prior to Early/Priority deadlines that can begin as early as October 15. Often these deadlines apply to any university scholarships.
PSAT/NMSQT on October 9
On October 9, Fremd High School will offer the PSAT/NMSQT during the school day. The PSAT/NMSQT exam is used to qualify students for the National Merit Scholarship program. Only students who participate in the PSAT/NMSQT during their junior year may be eligible for this scholarship. Information regarding this test can be found on the College Board website at www.collegeboard.org . Information regarding on how to register for this exam will be available on the Fremd Website in August or you can contact Tony Tosh at 847-755-2630.
iPad Pickup Information
You can pick up your child’s iPad based on the schedule listed below.
August 1 - August 11: No pick-ups will be allowed (except Aug 6 during Freshmen Kickoff) while we prepare for the return of our teachers, teaching assistants, and support staff.
August 6: Freshmen Kick Off Event - Students can pick up their iPads outside the gym at the conclusion of this event.
August 12: Students can pick up their iPads starting at 7 am on the first day of school.
The iPad Protection Plan is $25 per school year and it is effective the day you purchase it. You can pay for this optional protection plan online through MySchoolBucks before you arrive to pick up your iPad. You are not permitted to purchase the protection plan after your iPad has been damaged.
Preseason Athletic Meeting
All students, along with one parent or guardian, who wish to participate in Fremd athletics are required to attend their team’s mandatory preseason meeting. Each individual program will notify students and parents of the date, time and location of the pre-season meeting. Topics discussed will include: program expectations, D211 Athletic Code of Conduct and D211/IHSA academic eligibility requirements. This meeting also serves as a way for parents to meet their son/daughter’s coach and ask questions before the actual athletic competitions begin.
If a parent or student fails to attend the pre-season meeting, the student will be restricted from competition until a make-up session can be scheduled. If you have any questions, please contact the Athletic Office at 847-755-2770.
Back-to-School Sports Fest: August 16: 5:30-8:00 pm. Information will be communicated from our Athletic Director, Hamid Mehreioskouei. Follow @fremdathletics on IG and Facebook to help you stay up-to-date on sports information.
Health Requirements for Freshmen and Seniors
In accordance with State of Illinois requirements, all incoming freshmen must have a valid physical examination and up-to-date immunization records on file with the school nurse. Please note the IHSA sports physical cannot be used for 9th grade or transfer student school physicals.
Additionally, all seniors must provide proof of the meningococcal vaccination (MCV4) given on or after the student’s 16th birthday.
Please contact the nurse's office at FHSnurse@d211.org with questions.
