Georgia School Climate Survey

The Georgia School Climate Survey is an anonymous, statewide survey instrument that identifies school safety and climate issues that impact student achievement.

Family Game Night

January 14th - 5:30pm to 7:00pm

Hot chocolate and Cookies will be provided. Encouraged but not required, come in your pjs.

8th Grade Corner

Freshman Handbooks

Hard copies of Freshman Academy Handbooks were handed out to students in their homeroom on Wednesday, December 18th. The handbook is also available on our school website. Please review the handbook with students and consider which electives they may be interested in and discuss the articulation process.

Rising 9th Grade Field Trip

We are excited to announce an 8th grade articulation field trip to Peachtree Ridge High School on January 10, 2025. This trip will provide students with an opportunity to learn about what PRHS has to offer students as rising 9th graders. Students will take a tour of the building and learn about the Freshman experience at PRHS. The field trip will take place from 11 AM - 1 PM at no cost to students. Permission slips were due on Wednesday, December 18th. Please reach out to the 8th grade office if your student did not return a permission slip.

PRHS Rising 9th Grade Night

Peachtree Ridge High School is hosting their Rising 9th Grade Night at PRHS on January 15, 2025, starting at 6 PM. Families can come to learn about the high school registration process, specialty programs available at PRHS, and graduation pathway requirements.

Core Course Placement

When students return from Winter Break in January, teachers will begin discussing with 8th grade students the different placement options for core classes. Teachers will be making recommendations during the month of January. If your student is interested in taking particular courses in high school or following a specific pathway, they should open this discussion with their teacher during the month of January.

Elective Course Preferences

During the month of January, students will complete advisement lessons to better understand the different elective options available to them as 9th grade students at Peachtree Ridge High School. Students will complete an elective planning sheet in January. Please review this planning sheet with your student. Students will finalize their elective preferences on January 21st during advisement. Please remember these are preferences, not a finalized electives schedule.
