Superintendent's Message
Dear NRCS Families,
Welcome to the 2022-2023 school year! It is difficult to believe that this will be my fifth academic year as the superintendent for the North Ridgeville City Schools. I am proud of the progress the district has made and look forward to the exciting year ahead.
As your student returns to school, they will see changes around the district. Liberty Elementary hired a new principal, Amanda Zapotechne, who replaced Mitch Heffron. Mr. Heffron replaced Greg Planter at the Academic Center. Joseph Mueller was hired as the interim principal at the high school to replace Jamie Lormeau who recently retired.
NRCS added modular classrooms to the high school to accommodate overcrowding, and renovated additional spaces at ECLC to address our growing enrollment.
On the November 8, 2022 ballot, the district will ask electors to approve a bond to build a new high school, a K-3 elementary school, provide designated space for Ranger High Tech Academy, a performing arts center at the high school, and a maintenance and transportation facility.
The district's joint facility plan is to have a community center attached to the high school, which will have recreational facilities such as a field house, aquatic center, meeting spaces, and a senior center. The approval of the community center is a separate issue on the ballot and is funded by the city.
There will be many opportunities to hear more about the proposed bond issue over the next few months. I am excited to meet with you to discuss any questions you may have regarding the One Vision, One North Ridgeville joint facilities project.
In order to vote in November’s election, you must be registered by Tuesday, October 11, 2022. If you are not yet registered to vote, please visit www.voteloraincountyohio.gov.
I look forward to working with our dedicated staff members who work tirelessly to make our schools an inclusive setting where students can be successfully educated and can design their preferred future. The 2022-2023 academic year will be exciting for our students, staff, and the entire North Ridgeville community!
Thank you for your time and go Rangers!
Sincerely,
Roxann Ramsey-Caserio
