Winter Driving reminders: With the arrival of winter weather, it is crucial that all drivers, both students and adults, prioritize safety on campus at West:
- Stop Signs: Always come to a complete stop at all three stop signs, regardless of the time of day. Watch for pedestrians. Please do not roll through stop signs.
- Parent Drop-Off/Pick-Up: Please use the designated curb on the East (Main Office) side of the school only, or park in a lot and have your student meet you there. Do not drop off or pick up students in moving traffic lanes.
- Please adhere to the 15 MPH speed limit.
- After parking in the lot, please cross only in the main drive at designated crosswalks.
- Please park in an orderly manner that allows other vehicles to enter and exit parking lots (parking space lines may not be visible). Please do not park in designated handicap spaces unless you have a permit.
- Be cautious when exiting parking lots.
General WSH Campus Rules:
- WSH is a Closed Campus: Students may not leave campus during school hours unless they have been excused and checked out with their neighborhood office. All students who drive to school must have a valid permit.
- Late Arrivals: Students arriving after the start of first hour must enter through Door #1 (Main Office).
- Overnight parking is prohibited. Vehicles parked overnight may be towed.
- Report Unsafe Driving: Please report any unsafe driving incidents to the Main Office at 231-933-7500.
SAT/PSAT Practice Resources (reminder): All 9th-11th grade students can begin preparing for the SAT/PSAT that they will take on April 9, 2025. Below are a few ways for students to prepare:
- CollegeBoard Full-length Practice Tests: The Full-length practice tests in Bluebook™ are the most accurate way to measure your skills for the actual test. They introduce you to the Bluebook app, used for both practice and test day. Students can access Bluebook by signing out of their school-issued Chromebook, selecting APPS in the lower left corner, and selecting BLUEBOOK. You will need to sign in with your College Board username and password. After completion of a practice test, your practice scores will be available in your College Board Account under My Practice.
- Khan Academy Official Digital SAT Prep: Khan Academy is a free resource that allows students to gain access to thousands of practice questions, videos, lessons, helpful hints, and valuable test-taking tips and strategies. Every section of the digital SAT is expertly crafted by Khan Academy's team of math, reading, and writing experts. Students can access the Khan Academy SAT Prep using this link: khanacademy.org/digital-sat

The Mitten Drive: Spreading Warmth to TCAPS Families in Need
As winter approaches, The Mitten Real Estate Group is excited to announce the return of The Mitten Drive, a community initiative to support TCAPS families in need this holiday season. From November 15th to December 16th, you are invited to donate new mittens, coats, gloves, and hats to help keep our TCAPS families warm.
Donations can be dropped off at the Traverse City West Senior High School office, as well as other locations around town. They are also matching up to $1000 in donations via our GoFundMe which will be used to purchase more items. A full list of drop-off locations and their GoFundMe link are available on their website at www.themittendrive.com.
Your generosity can make a big difference for those who need it most during the cold months ahead. Let’s come together to spread warmth and kindness in our community!
Thank you for your support!
