Cedar Grove Friday Flash
September 20, 2024
Dear Cedar Grove Families:
The PTA is holding Movie Night and special evening Book Fair hours tonight. The Book Fair hours are from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. and the movie will begin at 6:30. We are so appreciative of all these amazing events provided by our PTA!
The safety of our MCPS community is critical, and being able to communicate with students, staff, and families during severe weather or other emergencies is of the utmost importance. Use this link to find all the ways you can connect with MCPS to receive emergency operational information from the school system. The current operating status options for the school district appear on the MCPS website and on individual school websites. In the event of a change in operational status, this link will provide more information about the MCPS Operating Status options.
Parents of current fifth grade students, please note that the central review process for the Middle School Magnet Consortium will occur in December 2024 using a set criteria to identify students who demonstrate a potential to be successful in enriched and accelerated programming. This process is not conducted by the school; students are reviewed by our central office. For detailed information, please read this parent information letter. Additional information can also be found using the link below or contact a team member at the Division of Consortia Choice and Application Program Services at DCCAPS@mcpsmd.org or 240-740-7800.

From Mrs. Hirschhorn, Media Specialist
The media monthly is updated to reflect what's going on during our last week of September! The Orange crew is doing a superb job - we finally have all our fifth-grade producers who are learning the ropes, as well. We will have a busy week of book checkout, since we couldn't do that this past week. Teachers have signed up for extra media time so our students can get new library books. So if anyone wants to come in and help us check in and shelve all the books, please sign up here! You'll also see all the fabulous titles we've added to our collection thanks once again to our PTA and the Book Fair!
Art, Music, and PE Newsletter
