Dear Hayshire Families,

Finally... a five day week! Students are settling back into routines and understanding our school-wide expectations. Consistency and predictability are key factors for student success, as well as a calm environment to better focus on learning!

Thank you to everyone who was able to attend our Family Game Night. A good time was had by all!

Friday, January 31 is the one-hundredth day of school! Yes, we are 100 days smarter! Many of our Hayshire friends are celebrating the occasion with "100" theme apparel, decorations, and activities.

Kindergarten Registration for the 2025-2026 school year opens on Monday, February 3. We will share our live Kindergarten Registration page on Monday morning with all of the information you need to get started. For more information, please see the "Checklist" pictured below.

Thank you to everyone who attended our last PTO meeting! Our next official meeting day is February 6 at 6:00 pm in the library. Once again, PTO will provide child care during the meeting. We can’t wait to see you!

Friday, February 7 is Friendship Day at Hayshire. To celebrate, our children will have a special PTO sponsored party. Please make sure your volunteer clearances are up to date if you would like to help in your child's classroom. Thank you!

As we head into the weekend, will Punxsutawney Phil see his shadow? Is an early spring possible? We'll have to wait and see!

Hayshire Read-A-Thon

Mark your calendar! Thursday, February 27 from 6:00 to 7:00 PM is our next Hayshire Family Night. Bring your books and a blanket to cuddle up and read with your family. There will be special guest readers. PTO will provide hot chocolate and treats! Don't forget to wear your pajamas!

2025-2026 Kindergarten Registration

Central York Diversity Celebration

The CYSD Diversity Celebration is being held on February 12 from 6:00-8:00 at the HS. This event is a chance to highlight the unique experiences, perspectives, and cultures within our community. The event will feature school and community tables to explore, a selection of international treats to enjoy, and a special presentation beginning at 7:15 PM, where students and staff will have the opportunity to share "their story" through a variety of formats, including performances and spoken word.

This year, the Diversity Celebration Committee is seeking more involvement from students and staff in the K-6 buildings to participate in the celebration by sharing their stories, artwork, and other talents in the celebration of diversity and inclusion. Students and staff can write a story about their specific culture, family traditions, journey to Central, their native language, and learning English as a second language. Participants can read their own stories or choose someone else to read. In addition, students and staff can present their culture-related artwork, songs, and/or dances at the celebration.

CYSD Device Protection Plan

Central York School District offers optional protection plans for your child’s District issued devices.

The protection plan fully covers your child’s device for any accidental damage that occurs. The cost is $25 per year for iPads and $60 per year for Macbooks.
