Highlights of the Week
We’ve had another fantastic week filled with exciting activities and opportunities for our students! Our swimming lessons continued this week, giving students the chance to build confidence and improve their skills in the water. It’s great to see their progress and enthusiasm! Meanwhile, our young athletes are working hard in Mini Dunkers practice, developing teamwork and basketball fundamentals. Thank you to Mrs. Broughton and Mrs. Pelech for overseeing the mini dunkers program, and to Katrina, Sara, Tova and Bentley for coaching! The mini dunkers are gearing up for a tournament in Bashaw at the beginning of April.
I am especially excited to report about our Métis Culture Project that happened on Friday, where students were able to engage in meaningful learning about Métis traditions, history, and contributions. It wasa wonderful experience that allowed our students and staff to deepen our understanding of Indigenous culture. I particularly liked was the storytelling that started the Music and Dance session with the junior highs. I learned that in Metis Culture the first time that you hunt a particular animal you give it away. First rabbit, first deer, first moose...also first bowl of berries picked, first moccasins made, they give it away. He described the first moose that he hunted, and the work that went into skinning it and packing it out of the bush. He described how difficult it was to give that moose meat away, but afterwards the appreciation that people showed him taught him the importance to giving and being generous.
Alberta Assurance Survey
Donalda School would love to hear from you! Parents of grade 4-9 students, you should have received an email from Clearview Public Schools requesting that you complete a survey regarding your child's education. The survey provides important feedback to our staff as we make plans for the upcoming school years, as well as for the division. The suvery closes March 21st.

Students of the Week
Jake Weinzierl
Jake has spent the last week really working hard on his math skills. It is amazing to see him dig into area questions, and I am so proud of his grit as he attempts more difficult problems. He hasn't stopped there though...he has been practicing his math skills in his spare time too! I have seen him working on additional math tasks that he has requested. Great work, Jake!
Eva Normand
Eva does excellent work in class. Her recent goal has been to improve her printing speed. She is practicing being focused and getting started right away. This has resulted in her completing more work during the same amount of time during class. Great job, Eva! Keep up the great effort!
