Dear Parent/Guardians:
Our faculty and staff are excited to welcome you to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope your summer break was full of fun and relaxation and that students are ready to come back for another great year! As a reminder the first day of school for students is August 1st . This year’s theme is “Celebration” as we have many successes to celebrate.
Our focus on academic excellence is highly dependent on student daily, on-time attendance to every class. Students must be in class 95% of the time to be successful (this means that your child should only have up to 4 excused absences per semester). Parents/guardians are an essential component of a students’ success. Let’s work collaboratively to ensure that your student is academically successful and prepared with the needed skills to pursue their life’s goals beyond high school. Please monitor your child’s attendance.
Let’s make this year another great year at Catalina! I look forward to working with you to encourage our students/scholars to excel and work toward their goals and graduation. See you Trojans on Thursday, August 1st , 2024. The first bell rings at 7:55!

Meet Mr. Lopez
My name is Samuel G Lopez. I am the Restorative Practice Facilitator (RPF) here at Catalina High-school. I graduated from the University of Arizona in Human Development and Family Science with a minor in Communications. I was born and raised here in southern Tucson and I love driving, pop culture, music. My passion in life is to help assist students and peers in becoming the best version of themselves through self reflection “If you can’t love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else” ~ RuPaul . I am excited to be of assistance to those in need and to be apart of the Trojan Culture!
