Want to Volunteer?
We Need Volunteers!
In order to be a Plano ISD volunteer, you must go through the VOLY management system, to create an account and complete an application, online orientation and criminal history check. These items need to be completed each school year by volunteers to be eligible for district/school volunteer opportunities. Volunteers can visit plano.voly.org to create a volunteer account and begin this process.
An email will be sent to the volunteer applicant communicating the status of their application and criminal history search within 3-5 business days of completing these steps. Volunteer approval status can also be viewed by the volunteer by logging into their account. Volunteers will need to complete the online orientation as well to be eligible to volunteer.
Once approved, they will be able to sign up for volunteer opportunities directly through the VOLY platform at plano.voly.org. Volunteers should be sure to select all of the schools they are interested in volunteering with when asked on their application. This will allow campuses to see their volunteers and their status in the system. These school selections can also be changed by the volunteer by logging into their account at any time.

What's Going on in Plano ISD?
Things to Know!
Hey Mendenhall Families!
Here are some things to know:
Do not pull up and park in the bus lane. That is restricted for busses. There is a large parking lot next to the campus for families to park and walk their student over.
If your child is being dropped off through carpool, they will need to exit the car independently. We will have staff on hand in case your child needs help, but we are encouraging independence and students having the ability to exit the car independently. Again, staff will not be opening car doors at this time, unless your student is requiring assistance.
Masks are recommended, but not required.
Please remind your child to bring their own water bottle to use throughout the day and bring home to wash each night.
Lunch with your student will be on Fridays only unless otherwise notified
The campus will be closed to the community for breakfast
Finally, at dismissal, please be sure you have your child’s dismissal card. This is required to pick up your child. If you do not have a dismissal tag, you will need to stop by the office with I.D.
Carpool Safety Message!
In the Morning:
Please remain in line order. When you skip ahead of cars, it can be a set up for a possible collision. Please do not cut in front of cars already in the carpool line.
Please do not U-Turn after dropping off your student in the morning.
The doors in the morning close at 7:40. If your clock says 7:41 or later, please pull around to the front of the school and we have someone to let the students in.
In the Afternoon:
Please ensure that you get into the carpool line from 18th street and do not U-Turn or cut in front of others in the carpool line. This way we can ensure that your number is punched in and your student is ready for you when you arrive.
Carpool line ends at 3:15pm. If you come at 3:15 or later, you need to pull around to the front to pick up your child(ren).
