Your Schroeder Library Media Center is designed with home access in mind. Our resources have been carefully vetted by the school to maintain student data privacy. I have included here some information on getting materials from our public library partners as well.

Please disregard due dates for any of the school's physical library materials that you may have at home. We will not be taking book returns until the school reopens

Are you and your family feeling overwhelmed by offers of distance learning applications? Take comfort that one of the best things you can do for yourself is to set aside time to read.

We know that free voluntary reading leads to improvements in vocabulary development, writing fluency, writing complexity, and student knowledge of the world around them (Krashen). But did you know that sustained silent reading yields the same or better results on tests of reading comprehension than skill development exercises? Furthermore, studies have found that the power of free voluntary reading is so great, that it can even offset the socioeconomic disadvantages that impact learners (Krashen).

Look below for ways that you can access digital reads for yourself and your family.

Remember that you will need the password "1webster" to access our database page. From there, passwords for individual databases are listed underneath each resource. You can access news, magazine, journal, and reference articles, as well as streaming media.

The Webster Public Library building is closed to the public, and is no longer providing drive up services. They are eliminating all overdue fees during the time they remain closed (until May 18). If you do not have a public library card and would like to get an ecard to obtain ebook and audiobook access from the public library, click here.
