A Night to Honor High Levels of Achievement!

This event celebrates success within the African American community, emphasizing a mindset of excellence demonstrated through leadership and perseverance. It recognizes high levels of achievement, success, or ability among individual African Americans or the community as a whole.

#MUSTbePRESENTtoWIN
In August 2023, elementary students were given a #MUSTbePRESENTtoWIN “Attendance Matters” challenge and began an eight month commitment to attend school! On Saturday, May 18, 2024 diligence paid off as 1,500 students met the 98% attendance requirement and earned a free trip to Knotts!
On the big day, excited students and volunteer chaperones boarded 37 buses for a fun-filled adventure. Smiles were on the faces of students who rode rides, met Snoopy and the Peanuts Gang characters, enjoyed meals and snacks and hung out with friends. The bus ride home was a bit subdued as students relaxed after a busy day!
Throughout the district, attendance rates have steadily increased this year because of the hard work of our staff and the support of our families who realize #ATTENDANCEisEVERYBODYSbusiness.
I'm Not Crying...You're Crying!!
There were a few misty eyes and much laughter during the May 22 SJUSD Retirement Reception. Dr. Pyle thanked each honoree for their faithful service and commitment to doing what is best for students. Each retiree’s supervisor shared a few fond memories and words of congratulations.
There is no question that this group leaves very big shoes to fill as seventeen individuals have worked for the district for over eighteen years with eight of those having a tenure of twenty-five to thirty-four years!

Congratulations and best wishes to all!

STAFF SHOUT OUTS & KUDOS
KUDOS TO:
SEBASTIAN CAMACHO (Guest Teacher, Resident Substitute, San Jacinto Elementary) Mr. C is our resident sub and is doing a fantastic job. Whatever is thrown his way, he does it wholeheartedly and always with a smile on his face. He has been invaluable to second grade and always helps with whatever we need. The students adore him and always wish for him to sub in their class. We wouldn't know what to do without him at SJE!
