West Haven Highlights
Sept. 6, 2024
Hello Families
We hope everyone had a wonderful three day weekend! We just finished green ribbon week. Thank you to our PTA for making it a fun week for students while teaching them to get to school safely.
Please remember that our front doors do not open until 8:00am. Breakfast does not start until 8:00.
We do not have supervision for children outside until 8:20. Please be aware that the school cannot be responsible for students dropped off before 8:00.
We just hired our new 5th grade teacher. Please welcome Mrs. Granquist. Her bio is below.
Thank you for supporting our school. We are excited for this year and for the opportunity to teach your children.
Stay Connected,
Mrs. Geisler
We have three openings on our Community Council. Please consider submitting your name as a candidate. This form is due Sept. 13.
Serving on our School Community Council is a wonderful way for parents and teachers to contribute and help improve academic performance at our school. The school receives an annual dividend from the school trust lands. Our council decides how these funds will be used. This year our school received $82,668 from the School LAND Trust Program. The council reviews and prepares other academic plans for our students each year. All plans are reviewed for final approval by our school board. Councils also act in an advisory capacity to school and school district administrations.
Picture Day: Sept. 17th- See Flyer Below
Welcome Mrs. Granquist!
My name is Mrs. Barbra Granquist but you can call me “Mrs. G”. I was born in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada and raised in different parts of the US and Canada. I now live in Clinton with my husband of 28 years and 3 children. My oldest son is married, my daughter is a sophomore at the University of Utah (GO Utes!!) and my youngest son is a senior in high school.
I love to read all kinds of books but my favorite is fantasy because I can get lost in the story and can explore new worlds. I love to have fun and be silly but also like having deep meaning full conversations. I love Utah winters because they are just the right temperature but am not a fan the heat of Utah summers. I love to swim and travel to new and interesting places.
I’m SO excited to get to know the West Heaven Elementary school community and look forward to a year of learning and fun.
