Canonsburg Middle School is slated to become the Canon-McMillan Middle School this January. Dr. Taranto, Middle School Principal, shared, "It is an exciting year for the middle school students with the planned opening of the new middle school on January 9, 2023. We have a transition plan in place that will help everyone get acclimated to the new school."

CMMS Transition Plan is as follows:

• Team building tours will take place the week of December 19th. Teams will be bused to the new building for students to tour the building and walk their new room numbers according to their existing schedules.

• Students will have a two-week winter break. This will allow District staff on the second week of the student break to finalize the building for the first student day.

• The middle school Open-House will be held in February to allow parents to see the new facility first-hand. Seventh grade will be on February 15th and the eighth grade will be on February 16th.
