Canonsburg Middle School to Become Canon-McMillan Middle School in January 2023
Canonsburg Middle School is slated to become the Canon-McMillan Middle School this January. Dr. Taranto, Middle School Principal, shared, "It is an exciting year for the middle school students with the planned opening of the new middle school on January 9, 2023. We have a transition plan in place that will help everyone get acclimated to the new school."
CMMS Transition Plan is as follows:
Team building tours will take place the week of December 19th. Teams will be bused to the new building for students to tour the building and walk their new room numbers according to their existing schedules.
Students will have a two-week winter break. This will allow District staff on the second week of the student break to finalize the building for the first student day.
The middle school Open-House will be held in February to allow parents to see the new facility first-hand. Seventh grade will be on February 15th and the eighth grade will be on February 16th.
First week, check!

Canonsburg Middle School's Fall Play: "House of Cards"
Canonsburg Middle School to Perform "House of Cards" on November 17 at 7:00 p.m.:
Seventeen students arrive at school in the morning and go through their day from opening their lockers, to passing in the hallways between classes, to lunchroom encounters, to their exit at the end of the day. Each character is a number representation from a deck of cards, and that number is their character name and value in the hierarchy of the student body. With ace being the lowest and king being the highest, we see, through intermingled scenes and monologues, the characters expressing their individual positions and feelings as to what it is like to be the value of the card that they represent. The entire action of the play is controlled by a joker who serves as the narrator.
Tickets are $3.00 and available the night of the show! We hope to see you there!
