CMAS Assessments
Dear Erwin Families,
In April, our 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students will take the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) and Math. This year, 7th graders will also be assessed in Social Studies and 8th graders in Science. Testing will occur from April 7th to April 24th, 2025.
These assessments are a key opportunity for us to understand how your child is progressing toward meeting state academic standards. The results help us tailor instruction and develop programs that best support your child’s growth and success in the coming year.
To give your child the best chance for success, please ensure they are present on testing days and avoid scheduling appointments during this period. If an absence is unavoidable, please notify your child’s teacher or the front office, and we will work with you to arrange a make-up session.
Your child’s participation is essential, as the results not only reflect their academic progress but also help us create an environment in which every student can succeed.
TSD’s website, Assessments of Learning, has a general schedule for state assessments. You can also visit TSD’s FAQs about State Assessments.
The Colorado Department of Education (CDE) has produced the Role of State Assessments detailing the value and importance of State Testing. CDE’s Parent and Family Resources website is another great resource for understanding assessments and how they impact our students and schools.
Please feel free to reach out with any questions about CMAS testing this year.
Thank You,
Ryan Barron
