WEEKLY RECAP
Spring break is just around the corner! We’ve had a week full of engaging activities and celebrations, and we’d love to share some highlights with you:
Read Across America Week: We kicked things off with a book drive, spreading the love of reading and making sure more kids have access to great books!
Knight Time: Students got creative in a character-building contest using potatoes! It was amazing to see all the imaginative designs.
Cheer Team: Our cheerleaders performed at the last home basketball game, and the best part? All three teams won!
French Classes: Our French students got hands-on by making crepes, diving into the delicious world of French cuisine.
Oregon Trail Exploration: And of course, students took a trip back in time to explore the Oregon Trail, a classic learning experience that never gets old.
There are just four more days until spring break! Let’s finish this quarter strong, and as always, thanks for all the support you’ve given.
8TH GRADE CELEBRATION - SAVE THE DATE!
8th grade students will be going to Main Event on April 25th from 9am-2pm. More details to come.
WOMEN'S HISTORY MONTH
Celebrating Women's History Month through the power of books—where every page tells a story of resilience, achievement, and inspiration. Here's to the women who have shaped history, and the authors who continue to tell their stories. Check out these books and more from the IHMS library!
FOCUS ON ATTENDANCE
Your goals are like a map that guides you to success! Checking in on them often, making changes when needed, and staying committed will help you reach your dreams. One important goal that can set you up for success is showing up every day—because being in school is the first step toward achieving everything else!
Here are a few goals you might try this month:
Attend School Every Day – Being present helps you learn, stay on track, and build good habits for the future.
Improve Your Study Habits – Set a schedule, find a quiet place, and stay organized.
Read More – Pick a new book or challenge yourself to read a little each day.
Stay Active – Join a sport, take a walk, or try a new workout.
Be Kind to Others – Give compliments, help a friend, or show appreciation.
Try Something New – Join a club, start a hobby, or learn a new skill.
Remember, every day you’re in school is a step closer to your goals. What will you focus on this month?
ARTISTS OF THE WEEK: HARPER GALLOWAY & ANNA DAWSON
INSTRUCTIONAL SPOTLIGHT
Students in Ms. Harrison's Spanish II classes recently took their language skills into the kitchen! Each student selected an authentic Hispanic recipe to prepare at home, creating videos that showcased their culinary creations while incorporating Spanish food vocabulary and key grammatical structures. This hands-on project not only brought language learning to life but also deepened their appreciation for Hispanic culture—one delicious dish at a time!
SPRING TESTING INFORMATION
Please see the image below for Spring Testing dates. We would appreciate your support in ensuring your student has a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast before testing. In addition, please make sure your student has a working pair of plug-in headphones (NOT airpods) for testing. Please let Mrs. Gorniak know if you have any questions. Thank you!
