A Week of Celebration and Connection at Valley Center High!
It’s been an incredible week at Valley Center High School, where the energy on campus is truly inspiring! Our students have been diving into their studies with enthusiasm, demonstrating their commitment to learning and excellence in every class. Beyond academics, it’s been heartwarming to see friendships blossoming and positive relationships being built as students connect with each other and their teachers, fostering a sense of community that makes our school special. Our VCHS culinary program, in partnership with ASB, added to the excitement by treating staff and students to delicious birthday surprises, showcasing the incredible talent we have right here on campus. Everywhere you look, there’s a buzz of activity—whether it’s in the classroom, on the athletic fields, or in the hallways. And the best part? This is just the beginning! Next up is our much-anticipated Back to School Night on September 10th from 5 to 8 pm, where families can enjoy a great evening together, with food available for purchase. We can’t wait to see everyone there! Be sure to keep an eye on the calendar—there’s so much more fun and excitement just around the corner!

Counseling Updates
PSAT Scheduled 10/15- Purchase at the Cashier's Window Today!
The PSAT is around the corner! The Preliminary SAT/ National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/ NMSQT) is more than just good practice for the SAT, and the scores are more than just a number. With the results, you can track your progress over time to see how you improve, you can gain insights about your current knowledge and skill level, and you can access personalized recommendations for AP courses that may be a good fit. Additionally, students who take the PSAT/ NMSQT and meet other program entry requirements specific to the PSAT/ NMSQT Student Guide will enter the National Merit Scholarship Program, an academic competition for recognition and scholarships conducted by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC). Have questions? Please reach out to VCHS Guidance Tech Ms. Ruiz for more information.
School Site Council and ELAC- We Need You!
School Site Council- Meets Monthly at VCHS 3:30- 4:30 pm
The School Site Council (SSC) is a group of parents, teachers, and staff members who come together to help make our school the best it can be. The council plays an important role in shaping the direction of our school by giving input on how we spend our budget, what programs we prioritize, and how we can improve student learning. By joining the SSC, you have a direct say in decisions that affect your child’s education. You can help decide which programs get funded and what improvements are made at our school. Joining the SSC doesn’t require any special skills—just a willingness to participate and share your thoughts. The council usually meets a few times a year, and meetings are a chance to discuss important topics and vote on decisions.
If you're interested in being part of the School Site Council, we’d love to have you! You can sign up by filling out our nomination form.
English Learner Advisory Council- Meets Monthly at VCHS 5:30- 6:30 pm
