PRINCIPAL UPDATE
REWARDS DAY
Rewards Day always marks a positive end to the term. Classrooms and the playground were filled with excitement as students enjoyed crazy hair, changing their names, face painting, nail painting, mufti, spiders, and for many, finishing the day off with popcorn and a movie. A personal highlight for me is always enjoying morning tea with students and hearing about their highlights from Term 3, along with some fantastic holiday plans.
A big thank you to our parent helpers and teachers for their time and efforts in organizing and coordinating such a fantastic event.
GIFTED AND TALENTED WORKSHOPS
This week, Year 6 students had the opportunity to attend the Central Coast Gifted and Talented workshops at Point Wolstoncroft. Students were carefully selected to participate in various subject areas, including Drama, Visual Arts, English, Creative Maths, Science, Environmental Studies, and Sports Science. Additionally, we were fortunate to have both Ms. Bailey and Mrs. Calverley sharing their expertise and leading engaging 3-hour English workshops. The positive stories shared by the students upon their return to school were truly inspiring.

KNOW SOMEONE WHO IS ENROLLING OR LEAVING IN 2024?
If you know someone who is considering enrollment at Erina Heights PS, please ask them to contact the office so that we can plan for the 2024 school year. Also, if you are leaving Erina Heights at the end of 2023, please let the school know so we can factor this into planning.
HAVE A SAFE AND HAPPY HOLIDAY

PLAYGROUND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM - THANK YOU TO OUR LEADERS!
This term, our Stage 3 students once again embraced the opportunity to organise and lead their fellow schoolmates in an array of activities during recess and lunch breaks as part of our Playground Leadership Program. The dedication, care, and effort our young leaders have shown in playing and engaging with their peers at Erina Heights have been truly inspiring to witness.
Their commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive playground environment has left a lasting impact on the school community. The enthusiasm and energy they bring to their role have made playtime enjoyable and memorable for everyone.
Looking ahead, our Playground Leaders are eager to sustain this momentum into the next term and beyond, continuing to encourage friendship, participation, and creativity amongst their fellow students. Their dedication to enhancing the school experience for all is a testament to their outstanding leadership skills and empathy.
In acknowledgment of their exceptional efforts, our Playground Leaders were treated to an ice cream snack bar this week. It was a small token of our appreciation for the immense value they bring to our school community.

PREMIERS READING CHALLENGE
We're thrilled to celebrate the remarkable accomplishments of our students in this year's Premier's Reading Challenge at Erina Heights! 187 students have successfully completed the challenge, showcasing an incredible increase from the 52 students who finished last year.
Certificates of achievement will be awarded to most students after the holidays, unless they are slated to receive one on Presentation Day. We extend our gratitude to all the parents and guardians for their unwavering support and encouragement in fostering a love for reading at home.
Looking ahead, we can eagerly anticipate the start of the 2024 Premier's Reading Challenge. Although the challenge officially begins this month, the reading logs will become available online in March of next year. The process is simple—just remember the title of the book you've read and log it accordingly.
Wishing everyone happy reading and a fantastic start to the upcoming reading challenge!
