Tiger Connection

It has been a great first week of school! It is hard to believe that our students just returned when you walk through the hallways. Classes are already into their regular routines and learning has begun. It is amazing to see how respectful, engaged, and kindhearted our Tigers truly are. While this week has been tiring, it is one of the best weeks of the year!

A couple reminders of items that families should try and get done during the first few weeks of school:

• Join PTO - they do so much to support our community!
• Update any new contact information in Infinite Campus if it has changed over the summer
• Provide proof of residency if you are a returning kindergarten or 2nd grade family

Tops: White, navy, or light blue collared shirts.

Sweaters/Jackets: Sweaters or jackets worn within the building must be white, navy, or light blue.

Bottoms: Navy, khaki, or plaid #76 slacks, shorts, dresses, or jumpers. Skirts, shorts, and dresses must be fingertip length. Leggings may only be worn underneath skirts and dresses. Jeans are only to be worn on our weekly Spirit Days and during free dress days.

Spirit Days: Spirit Days occur each Friday. Students may purchase spirit wear from the PTO website. Students may wear their uniform top with jeans.

Free Dress Days: Free dress days may be purchased through the PBIS school store or given to students as an incentive. During free dress days the expectation is to follow dress code. Spaghetti straps may not be worn, and no midriff may be showing.

As we start the new year please remember to add the Clinic number to your contact list to recognize when we call on behalf of your child. My number : 470-254-8850

Also, should your number change during our school year, please let BOTH the Front office and your teacher know the new contact number. Advising the teacher only does not change it in the computer system and your most current number is necessary for us to reach you when your child is sick or hurt.

Each week we will spotlight a different staff member! There are so many amazing adults here at SDE and I know everyone would love to learn a little more about each of them.

This week our spotlight is on Stephany Ramirez. Stephany is kicking off her 1st year of teaching here at Spalding Drive after graduating from KSU.

Our PTO has opened their store for purchasing spirit wear for the upcoming school year. There are some great options available! Please remember that students are able to wear spirit wear on Fridays.

The PTO is hosting a Back-to-School picnic on Friday, August 23rd from 6-8pm! You won't want to miss this FREE opportunity to come socialize with other Spalding families and celebrate another great start to the school year!

We are planning some fun water activities and 5th grade will be selling concessions and pizza. Whole pizzas are available for pre-order (cheese or pepperoni, 8 slices per pizza), and concessions, pizza by the slice and a treat will also be available for purchase on site.
