Board Meeting Highlights

• The board of education received information regarding 2024 Dashboard Data.

Superintendent Dr. Cota reported one of our district goals is to enhance student achievement initiatives. The California Dashboard became public November 21st, and we are happy to report we are seeing positive changes. This is a time to celebrate and express our gratitude to all staff, both certificated and classified, for their hard work in creating welcoming and supportive environments for students. Our teachers are working very hard. Our students' performance is improving in English language arts. Our math teachers are participating in a community of practice focused on ways to engage students. We also wish to thank administrators and counselors who are working to improve multi-tiered systems of support for students. A big thank you to all of our staff as we go into the holiday season.

Dr. Cota attended the California School Boards Association conference with new and returning Board members last week. One speaker discussed "time confetti" and the importance of how we spend even small amounts of time. She recommends we use even small amounts of time on our loved ones.

• The Board of Education received a presentation by the KCHS Interact Club.
• The Board of Education received a report from each of the site principals and the student Board member from KCHS.

• The Board of Education held a public hearing for the Annual and Five-Year Accounting of Developer Fees for 2023/24.

• The Board of Education received information on Revenue and Expenditures through November 2024.
• The Board of Education received information on the Monterey County Treasurer's Report of Investments for Quarter Ending September 30, 2024.

• The Board of Education approved Student Expulsion Case #04:24/25.
• The Board of Education approved Resolution 11:24/25 School Facilities Fee for 2023/24.
• The Board of Education approved Resolution 12:24/25 Board Compensation for Missed Meeting - Linda Benway.
  
• The Board of Education approved Resolution 13:24/25 Designation of Authorized Agent to Sign School Orders.
• The Board of Education approved the recommendation of the Citizen Advisory Committee to dedicate the KCHS library building to Mrs. Teresa Richardson.
• The Board of Education approved 2024-25 First Interim Report.
• The Board of Education approved Felice Consulting Services Program Management for Measure H and Measure I Projects.
• The Board of Education approved the AMS Agreement for Six New Portable Classrooms for PBHS-Greenfield.
• The Board of Education approved the Purchase of a Ford Model Transit - Electric.
• The Board of Education approved Measure H and Measure I Facility Priorities.
• The Board of Education approved the Memorandum of Understanding with South Monterey County Teachers' Association for Expansion of Sick Leave Donation Plan.
• The Board of Education approved the Memorandum of Understanding with South Monterey County Teachers' Association: Health Benefit Contributions for Transitioning Administrators.
• The Board of Education approved the 24/25 SPSA School Plan for Student Achievement Final Draft for GHS, KCHS, PBCHS, and PCVHS.

The Board of Education approved all consent agenda items.
