Week 7, Term 4 - 2023
Term 4...so far
LOST IN THE LIBRARY
What an amazing show we put on last week. From Tuesday - Thursday our students performed 4 shows to parents, caregivers, whānau and even the Te Aroha kindergarten! The show was capably lead by Mrs Entwisle who produced the show. We had awesome lead characters, they did extremely well at bringing the stories to life. Our teachers also did an outstanding job teaching their students the individual dances, all our many costume and make-up volunteers brought the dances and characters to life...and our students made the whole show joyful with their excellent attitudes! It was a fun and inspiring time, we have thoroughly enjoyed presenting to you all and look forward to doing it again in two years time. For further photos, check out our school Facebook page.
@school parent app
Te Aroha Primary School is moving to a one-stop shop parent app for 2024. We are sending you an email with simple instructions to download and use the app. We encourage you to do this as soon as possible and contact us if you have any problems along the way. All student reports will be put onto the app this year so you will need the app to view your child's Term 4 report (copies can still be made for families if necessary - contact the office or your child's teacher for this).
The app has many positive features including;
- Messaging - no longer needing to have seesaw or school app for messages
- Reporting to families - your child's reports will be able to be accessed via the app (all reports posted on the app will be there, building up over time)
- Permission slips - they will be accessed and signed via the app
- School calendar - will be on the app
- Sending teacher messages - this will be done via the app
- Absences - will be done here too
- Student learning - you will have realtime access to your child's learning goals and progress, you will be able to see the evidence they use to meet their learning goals
- Kindo - all school payments can be made via the app
- Student learning conferences (parent/teacher interviews) - will be booked via the app
This is just a taster of what will be available to you. You can engage with it as much or as little as you like. It will be used in Term 1 next year by teachers for Maths and then in Term 2 for Maths and Literacy enabling you to follow your child's learning journey and strengthening the Home-School learning partnership. It is a big change for us all, so be patient with yourselves and allow time to become familiar with the app and all it's features.
AND PLEASE don't hesitate to contact us or come in if you have any problems getting the app going. We need EVERYONE accessing it before the end of Term 4. PS - all of your children will appear on the app i.e. if you have 3 children - all 3 of them should appear at the top of the app.
Limitless Revival Op shop has opened up in Te Aroha. They are very kindly using proceeds from their sales to make donations to our school to help support students in sporting / EOTC opportunities where payment may be a barrier to participation. We tautoko this mahi and encourage families to check out their shop or consider them for donations of good quality unwanted goods you may have around your homes.
