PARTNERING WITH THE PRINCIPAL
With the upcoming MAP tests, I will write notes on the sheets and send home some summer workbook options for parents to purchase. The workbooks are for PK - high school and available for math, writing, language arts, Spanish and other subject areas. More information will follow in the testing results that we will send home.
PASTOR/PRINCIPAL UPDATES
Lots of change ahead for all of us, yet the Church's vision for Catholic education remains the same. Fr. Luke Marquard, our new pastor begins July 1st and is both excited and hopeful as he makes his way to St. Joseph's. With a background in education, he is deeply committed to the value of Catholic schools. After 15 years of generous service, Fr. Creagan will be deeply missed; more details following on an event to recognize him. Special thanks to Mrs. Vance and Ms. Wenner for their continued leadership and dedication to our mission in a time of transition.
With regard to the principal hiring process, the position has been posted for over a week and has stirred a significant amount of interest among potential candidates already. As many of you may recall, the Archdiocese takes a strong lead in this hiring process - postings, processing applications, competencies, committee guidelines, etc. At their recommendation, the Search Committee from last spring has been reinstated to expedite the process, with the addition of Fr. Marquard himself.
The Search Committee will include: Julie Hurley (parishioner/grandparent), Anne Miller (parishioner/grandparent), David Meier (finance council/parent), Kathy Schneeman (parent), Bri Brekke (parent), Gayle Stoffel (archdiocese), Tom Gagliardi (former administrator/consultant) and Patrick Menke (parish administrator) - in addition to Fr. Marquard (future pastor).
We are currently screening and communicating with candidates so that initial interviews might occur as early as Saturday, May 6th. Fr. Creagan would retain the final decision provided the hire is completed before his departure. Please join us in prayer asking God to bless us with guidance and wisdom in this process.
Patrick Menke, Parish Administrator
THE SOUND OF MUSIC - Final Performance TONIGHT!
The Middle School Musical “The Sound of Music” will be performed tonight at 6:30pm. Don't miss your opportunity to see this terrific show and watch our students shine!
The performance will be held in our school gymnasium. Tickets are for sale at the door.
School students will attend the show during the day. Please be aware that adults attending student performances must purchase a play ticket for each performance attended. We thank Mrs. Bowe & Mrs. Kilduff and the team along with the many parent volunteers for providing this special experience for our middle school students.
