EHS Newsletter

Feb. 6th Registration Deadline
Dear Parents/Guardians of Current 9th, 10th and 11th Graders:
Eagan High School is providing timely information about our “online” registration process for next school year. The registration process will allow you and your students to have access to course information online and register online at home.
The EHS Student Registration Guide is online on the EHS web site: Online Registration
You may search for courses by department or by name, in alphabetical order. Simply go to the EHS web site and click on Menu in the upper right hand corner. Then click the + next to Academics and then click Online Registration, finally click Registration Guide. Under Online Registration you can also find Online Registration Instructions and Registration Cards by Grade Level.
The following timeline is planned for grades 9, 10 and 11:
January 29-February 6
Current 9th, 10th and 11th graders met in their PAWS classes on January 29 and received information and instructions related to the “online” registration process. With parent/guardian guidance, students must register online during this “open window” period of time. We expect each student, with parental knowledge and guidance, to be able to access the internet and complete the process. The deadline to complete their registration in Course Planner is Thursday, February 6.
If you have questions, please feel to contact your student’s counselor at 651-683-6921 or send them an email.

National Letter of Intent Signing
NATIONAL LETTERS OF INTENT FOR SENIOR ATHLETES:
A National Letter of Intent is a binding commitment by an athlete to play collegiate athletics for a particular NCAA college or university in exchange for a scholarship. (This means your son or daughter is signing a commitment to a Division I or Division II school to play a sport and receiving an athletic scholarship. This would also mean the college or university has been in contact with you and your son or daughter about the signing the paperwork. ) This is not the signing date for D-III or JUCO or NAIA Schools
Wednesday, February 5, 2025 is the second of three signing time periods for prospective senior student-athletes, who have played at Eagan HS, to sign their National Letters of Intent.
Signing will take place at EHS about 9:20 am - more details to follow with signees.
We will celebrate our D-1 and D-11 athletes at this signing
If you have a senior (12th Grade) son or daughter who will be signing to play college athletics during this time period please contact Eagan’s Athletic Director, Jason Elias.
Email - Jason.Elias@district196.org and Sherri.anderson@district196.org the following by Monday, Feb. 3rd.

ELD Peer Tutoring
ELD Peer Tutoring is a unique opportunity to earn elective credit. This class is open to 10th, 11th, and 12th graders who enjoy assisting 9th graders at EHS with homework, study skills, and just learning about what it means to be a high school student. Some 9th graders are new to EHS and some are newer to English. This would be a great class to take if students are interested in going into teaching or any field that works with people from a variety of cultural backgrounds. But don't take my word for it - click on the QR code to read testimonials from former tutors and tutees. You can reach out to me (dena.thorson@district196.org) with any questions or stop by room 253 (upstairs by the flags!).
