Brookwood Elementary kicked off the new school year with a fantastic first day! Our dedicated staff extended warm welcomes to both returning Colts and excited newcomers. From the moment the school doors opened, students were immersed in a day filled with learning, laughter, and new friendships. We are thrilled to start this new academic year and look forward to a wonderful year ahead!

A huge mahalo (thank you) to our dedicated PTA for hosting a delightful Hawaiian-themed luncheon on Friday, August 2nd! The delicious food and exciting raffle were the perfect way to conclude a week of intensive preparation for the upcoming school year. We are grateful for their hard work and enthusiasm.

Special thanks to our local businesses for their generous donations to the raffle. Your support is invaluable to our school community. We are excited to welcome our students back on the first day of school!

This school year, Gwinnett County Public Schools and Brookwood Elementary's Back to School Orientation Agreements must be completed either on the ParentSquare website or the ParentSquare app.

Have you downloaded the ParentSquare app via the App Store or Google Play? This is the best way to send and receive communication from Brookwood Elementary School!

Parents may begin visiting to eat lunch with their student on Tuesday, August 20th. Lunch visitors are welcome on Tuesdays - Fridays, but we do not have visitors on Mondays. We do not have any parent visitors for breakfast.

Parents/Visitors who are eating lunch with their child, must be listed in Synergy as an approved contact. Please bring your picture ID to school with you and check in at the front office.

Parents/Visitors must sit at the specified visitor table with only their student. Students may not bring a friend with them to the parent/visitor table. Parents/Guardians visiting for lunch should say "good bye” to their student in the cafeteria so that the teacher can begin instructional time after lunch.

You are welcome to bring a lunch with you for you and your child, or you may purchase a lunch from our cafeteria.

Food/snack/drink deliveries are not allowed for students at school. Students must bring a lunchbox from home or enjoy the school lunch.

Please join us at Brookwood Elementary’s Curriculum Night where you will have the opportunity to learn about the curriculum and expectations of the 2024 -2025 school year.

• Kindergarten, 1st, and 2nd Grade - Tuesday, August 27th

Teachers are offering two session times for your convenience: 6:00 - 6:40 pm or 6:45 - 7:30. The information presented in both sessions will be the same.

On sale for a limited time only, you can purchase a 2024 - 2025 Grade Level T-shirt for your K - 4 student*. Each classroom will have a unique t-shirt color with a common grade level design on the front of the t-shirt. Ordering a grade level t-shirt is optional, but we encourage your child to wear their grade level shirt on field trips, field day, and as spirit wear for the remainder of the school year.

Shirts cost $12.00 and can be ordered via MyPaymentsPlus. The sale of these shirts will end on September 15th, so purchase a shirt for your child before you run out of time!

Registration is now open for the 2024 - 2025 KidzLife club.

KidzLife Club, hosted and conducted by volunteers from Grace Snellville, is a club that meets Mondays after school until 5:00 pm for 2nd - 5th grade students.

Students, families, and staff can download the free GCPS Mobile app to stay on top of the latest news, calendar events, and emergency information. You can enable notifications and choose your preferred language.

All money collected from boxtops goes directly to buy PE equipment for Brookwood Elementary. There is a new system starting this year where you download the FREE Boxtops for Education App and scan your receipt. The boxtops will automatically upload to our school's account. Just be sure to select BROOKWOOD ELEMENTARY SNELLVILLE, GA when you set up the app (There are SEVERAL Brookwood Elem. schools to choose from.) The video below will show you how the process works. Have you joined Brookwood Elementary's PTA yet? The Brookwood Elementary PTA supports the student and staff of Brookwood Elementary School. PTA Membership is the cornerstone of parental involvement and community support at our school. Funds generated through PTA Membership are added to the general budget, which helps to support resources for teaching and learning at Brookwood Elementary. The $10 you invest in becoming a PTA member goes a long way for our school.

Join the Brookwood High School Softball Team at Youth Night, Thursday, August 15 vs. Parkview. *Youth players in a Brookwood jersey get free admission for Youth Night!​* The Junior Varsity team plays at 4:00pm followed by the Varsity team at 6:00pm, and tickets are on GoFan!

The Five Forks branch of the Gwinnett County Public Library has a number of special events coming up during the month of August.

• Bring the whole family for StoryTime on Saturday, August 10th at 10:30 am.
• Children ages 6 - 11 can learn about the importance of sleep on Monday, August 12th at 6:00 pm
• Reading Buddies for children ages 6-11 are now available on a first come, first serve basis on Wednesdays in August at 4:00 pm.
