PRINCIPAL'S POST
Dear Parents & Caregivers,
We made it! In a term where we welcomed back our parents onsite and COVID heavily interrupted the teaching and learning program, our staff, children and parent community showed a great deal of resilience and grit.

Imani Robinson (5W) & Bridgette Cooke (1B)
Koby Whitehead (5B)
Miss Abigail Murphy (KW)
Miss Nikeisha Vinciguerra (ATA)
Miss Carmen Mirto (2W)
Mrs Fiona McDonald (6W)
S1 REPORTS & REPORT INTERVIEWS
Thank you to the staff and parents for attending our parent interviews today. We hope the work that was put into the Semester One Academic reports were a good reflection of your child's learning. It was an opportunity to formally meet with staff to discuss your child, which builds on our parent/school partnership.
WELLBEING WEEK
Our annual Wellbeing Week has been another resounding success! Children were reminded about the 5 Ways to Wellbeing:
Connect
Get Active
Be Mindful
Keep Learning
Give to Others
Thank you to the Wellbeing Team, led by Mrs Liz Ward (PPB) for their coordination of this week's activities. Also, to Woolworths Butler for supplying the fruit for Tuesday. Another great partnership within our community.
INTERSCHOOL CROSS COUNTRY
Congratulations to our Interschool Cross Country team for their outstanding performance at last Friday's carnival. There were some fantastic results, but most importantly, the children finished the race and had an enjoyable day in the sunshine. Thank you to Ms Hamilton for her support and coordination of the day.
INSTRUMENTAL TUITION FEEDBACK
After a full semester of instrumental tuition lessons, we received some formal feedback from the tutor, Jesse (and Ryan).
High Achievers: Kayla Rasheed, Tiarne Connell, Jessica Leahy, Genesis Limbo, Nirvana Dos Santos-Viljoen.
The music that has been worked on includes; Ode to Joy and Fur Elise for keyboard students, 12 Bar Blues and the 4-chord trick for guitar using different strumming patterns on chords G-D-Em-C. Drum students have been demonstrating their ability to read basic drum beats, paradiddles, and different rhythms. Congratulations to all the instrumentalists. We are hopeful of having some of them perform at the conclusion of Term 3, Grandparents Day!
NAIDOC WEEK
As NAIDOC Week 2022 officially is celebrated during our school holidays, our Aboriginal Education Team have been busy preparing to celebrate in Term 3, Week 1. We have a number of activities for our children including performances from different groups. Our Week 1 will culminate in our NAIDOC week concert which Mr Cunniffe has been working diligently on with each class. Please see the flyer below for an outline of Week 1.
TERM 3 IMPORTANT DATES
Attached below is a list of Term 3 important events. Please familiarise yourself with the relevant dates. A reminder that the most accurate reflection of our school dates are found in the live calendar link below.
My sincere thanks to all our children and parents for your support and understanding as we have navigated this term. We realise there have been staffing disruptions to a number of classes and coupled with COVID, provided plenty of challenges for our community. The children have been amazing in the way they have adapted and continued trying their best. As a staff, we are very proud of the children and how they have conducted themselves over the term.
July is a big month for us sporting nuffies, with Wimbledon, the Wallabies and State of Origin all featuring prominently. Some great opportunities to unwind over the holiday break. Wishing all families and children a restful holiday period and we look forward to welcoming back the children on Tuesday, July 19th for Term 3.
Best wishes
Jason Baker

Congratulations to all the students who represented the school on Friday at the interschool cross country. There were 26 schools participating in the day and we had some wonderful results overall. Kamron Makawa in Year 3 came first in his race which was a tremendous achievement at his first ever interschool carnival.
