On Thursday, October 17th, the Art Barn came to Runkle to perform for students in grades 1-6. Express Yourself; A Story of Kid Empowerment in a Grown-up World was enjoyed by all. Thank you to Matthew Kossack and all the talented young actors.

Runkle is fortunate to have a highly skilled Educational Technology Specialist (ETS). Jenny Murphy collaborates with classroom teachers. Her role includes the following:

• Jenny spends over 80% of her time in classrooms integrating technology and into lessons she teaches to students.

• Jenny collaborates with our teachers. She helps teachers plan to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum. She spends 20% of her time planning with teachers so that the teaching of our students is even better. She also cheers on student successes and works with teachers to calibrate and improve teaching and student learning.

• A small portion of Jenny's time is spent making sure that technology in the school is running smoothly so students can do their best learning while working on lessons, projects, and State Assessments.

Thank you Ms. Snickenberger for the Halloween Fair pictures! We hope everyone had a great time. Thank you to all our PTO members/volunteers, especially Jen Reed and Alisa Ridruejo, for all your hard work. We know how much our Runkle students enjoy this special event.

Runkle is ready to offer a weekly Homework Center for students in grades 6-8. Homework Center will be held on Wednesdays from 2:30-3:30 pm in a middle school classroom TBD. The Homework Center will be staffed by Shannon Veski, a Runkle Paraprofessional. We plan to start this week on Wednesday, October 30th.

This year's Town-Wide Cross Country Meet was a huge success. The weather at Larz Anderson was PERFECT. Runkle runners performed well. Please see the students who placed in the top ten for each grade level below:
