Dear Academy @ Shawnee School Families:

Welcome to the Academy at Shawnee for the 2024-25 school year! We are so excited to get this school year off to a great start!

Important: Physical examinations and updated immunization certificates are required for ALL 6th and 9th Grade students and must be completed at the beginning of the school year.

For 6th, 7th, and 8th Grade Students:

6th Grade: August 1, from 9 am - 12 pm

7th & 8th Grade: August 2, from 9 am - 12 pm

For 9th-12th Grade Students:

9th Grade: August 1, from 1 pm - 3 pm

10th - 12th Grade: August, 2 from 1 pm - 3 pm

If you cannot attend, we highly recommend filling out all forms online before stopping in to save time, however stations will be set up for form completion.

Vendors and school supplies will be available.

Families will begin having access to their child's bus stops on Monday, July 22nd via the JCPS Transportation Portal (button below). Please check Bus Teller daily as stops will continue to populate. 485-RIDE will be available to answer transportation questions from 10:30 am - 4:30 pm (hours may vary).

Some families have reached out requesting information regarding transfers and late magnet applications. JCPS is still accepting late Magnet application and application for transfers. If you did not get to make a change for close to home or far away school option, please contact Ms. Pointer at 485-8326 to request a change. Our office staff will help you with any request. The first day of school will be Thursday, August 8. The school day begins at 8:40 am and ends at 3:20 pm each day. So be sure to arrive before 8:30 am on the first day of school.

Also, the Academy @ Shawnee has designated a 'Community Eligibility' school as a part of the National School Lunch and Breakfast Program, which means that every Academy @ Shawnee student will receive complimentary breakfast and lunch throughout the 2024-25 school year! However, to retain this status, EVERY family must complete and return the green JCPS 'Educational Benefits Form' you will receive this summer.

We are a no locker and a clear backpack school. Backpacks and Student IDs are provided by the school and required daily.
