🚨 New Procedure- Student IDs
Attention Parents and Caregivers
Today students received their student IDs on a brand new lanyard. Students will be expected to wear their lanyards during the day at GHMS. Below are the expectations that were given to students during Advisory:
Each student will have their photo ID with the lanyard matching their team color
On the back of the student ID, there is a label with name and QR Code for PBIS Rewards
Staff can scan those codes in the hallway when students are meeting expectations to give points
Why?
- Safe - Helps with identification of students in situations where staff may not know a students name or team color.
- Responsible - Being asked to carry ID to assist in recognizing students
- Respectful - Presenting ID when asked for it
Student’s should be wearing lanyards during the school day
This includes morning and afternoon for busses - Students should be scanning ID’s on the busses beginning this afternoon. (This is a requirement so we know who is on the bus in case of an emergency)
Students may remove student ID during certain classes where it could get in the way (i.e. - Wellness, Tech Ed, Art, STEM, etc.)
ID should be present when walking hallways between classes
Please let us know if you have any questions about the student ID's at the middle school.

PBIS Rewards Family Link
Hello GHMS Parents/Guardians,
At the middle school we implemented a digital system called PBIS Rewards this year to help promote and cultivate a positive school environment. Last year you may have heard your son/daughter discuss and talk about Buckslips and getting recognized on the announcements. We have been working to get acclimated to this digital platform and being able to recognize students who are meeting the expectations at the middle school.
How students earn points:
· Each student at GHMS has an opportunity to earn points every class.
· The expectation is that students in class who demonstrate Safe, Respectful, and Responsible can earn at least 3 points every class. (1 points for each category).
· Students can earn more points if they are going above and beyond with daily expectations.
Redeeming Points:
Students will have the opportunity each week to purchase items or an experience (ex. First in the lunch line) through the online school store on PBIS Rewards. Items purchased will be delivered to students within the next two days. I encourage you to speak with your student regarding the school store and what they are purchasing.
Students have the ability to check points and purchases on the app and families have the opportunity to connect to the app as well. The app is called PBISR Family. This allows families to view points that students have, reach out to teachers and see what students have purchased from the school store. QR codes and directions were sent home at Cruise the Halls in August and we have many families connected already. We will have those forms sent home again in November prior to conferences in an effort to get more families connected. I hope you use this opportunity to speak with your son/daughter about being Safe, Respectful and Responsible at school.
Thank you,
Eric Hollinger

We’re going to Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Cape Town in Summer 2027
Hello CVHS Families,
We’re going to Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Cape Town in Summer 2027, and you’re invited! You might have heard about the wonderful trip to Greece that 39 CV students joined in the summer of 2024 (see picture attached). We just announced our next trip in the Summer of 2026 (Dublin, Belfast, and Edinburgh, with an extension to the Highlands). We are also announcing an additional trip for the Summer of 2027 – Come with us to South Africa!
We’re excited to tell you more about the trip we’re planning with EF Tours, our educational travel partner. Please be sure to register for this information session on November 12th from 7:00pm-8:00pm in the CVHS Auditorium to be considered for this opportunity: https://rsvp.eftours.com/kvnprkg
When students travel, they expand their knowledge of the world around them, discover more about themselves, and grow more confident. These skills are critical for creating the global citizens of tomorrow, and we would love to have your student join us on this adventure.
In this info session, we’ll talk about:
How this opportunity will benefit your student
- What we’ll see and do on our trip
- Everything that’s included in this experience
- How your child can earn academic credit
- How we’re keeping this safe and affordable
- How to enroll on this trip (before it fills up!) during EF’s risk-free enrollment period
There are limited spots on this trip, so we would love to have you attend this meeting to learn more about this exciting opportunity!
Thank you.
