Thank you, Volunteers!!
We’re so grateful to our many student alumni volunteers who assisted with our first annual childcare option for both evenings this week. Thank you to our community and PTSA for supporting this! We had a successful turnout and experience.
Food Drive, September 23rd-30th
Hello Cherry Crest families and students! Did you know that people living in poverty are more than twice as likely to suffer from depression than those who live above the federal poverty line?
Donate to the food drive today to help stop this! My name is Liba Mujtaba and I'm a sophomore at Interlake High and an alumnus of Cherry Crest. I want to help those experiencing food insecurity using my research on the gut-brain connection. All proceeds will be donated to Hope Link and Sofia Way, a non-profit for women. You can find the collection boxes in the entryway with posters and signs above it.
Please donate:

Giving Month at Cherry Crest Elementary
Giving Month a focused period where PTSA is trying to activate donations to Cherry Crest Elementary (CCE) that aligns with many Corporate Giving initiatives. These funds are crucial to providing free field trips, free author visits, needed school personnel funding, family events, teacher grants, and much, much more. [See here for full details].
We will only have 2 fundraisers this year – Giving Month (Carnival – Oct 4th & Family STEM Night – Oct 25) plus Walkathon/Bingo Night on Friday, May 9th. PTSA’s goal is to collectively raise $200K.
Envelopes: DUE OCTOBER 2nd!
Your student went home with a yellow envelope this week. This is for our PTSA Envelope Drive! Please see the flyer for more information or visit the PTSA website. For any questions, please email the PTSA at carnival@cherrycrest-ptsa.org.

About Advanced Learning Services
Bellevue School District's Advanced Learning Services provide identified students with academic services at an advanced level and accelerated pace. Instruction is designed to meet students' cognitive and academic needs at the appropriate level. Centered program services begin in second grade at select schools. Domain Specific services are available to students in grades 1 - 9 at all schools. We welcome you to consider Advanced Learning Services for your student.
Who Should Consider Applying for Advanced Learning Services?
Students in need of advanced learning services have an exceptional ability to learn and reason beyond their same-age peers. These children exhibit a high ability to make meaning out of complex concepts or problems.
You may want to consider applying for services for your student if you have noticed these characteristics:
· advanced vocabulary for their age
· strong reading skills two or more grade levels above current grade in school
· demonstrates high interest in numbers at an early age
· is imaginative
· finds interesting solutions to problems
· understands information quickly
· may prefer to interact with adults or older children
Apply Now!
Visit the Advanced Learning Services webpage to learn more about Advanced Learning Services and to apply for your student.
Please note that if your student is currently receiving Advanced Learning services, there is no need to re-apply. All kindergarten, 2nd and 5th graders enrolled in the district will be considered automatically for advanced learning services through our universal screening program.
