Enrichment courses are available to students on a first come basis. If you are interested in signing up your child for an enrichment course, please contact the middle school office at 518-654-9005.
July 10th -13th - Amazing Airbrush Art - Current 7th and 8th Grade Students
Students will explore various airbrushing techniques. They will learn to create their own art stencils, all the while building confidence using the medium of airbrush. Students will create a number of projects throughout the week and leave the class with skills that they can use in the future.
July 10-13th - Nanoscience - Current 5th and 6th Grade Students
Nanotechnology is the term given to those areas of science and engineering where phenomena that take place are measured in very small units called nanos. This enrichment course will focus on how nanotechnology has impacted our society and how engineers and scientists have learned to explore the world at the nanoscale. Students will participate in hands-on activities to understand exactly how small the nanoscale is, explore how surface area changes at the nanoscale, work with thin films, hydrogels and non-newtonian fluids (like oobleck) and work in teams to develop futuristic applications of nanotechnology.
July 10-13 - STEAM Camp - Current 5th - 8th Grade Students
Students will use creativity, critical thinking and collaboration skills to build and create STEAM projects on a variety of topics.
July 31st - August 3rd - Intro to Spanish/Cooking Hispanic Food - Current 5th - 8th Grade Students - DATE CHANGE!!!
Students will learn basic Spanish phrases including Spanish vocabulary for food. They will then learn about various Spanish speaking countries and the food that they commonly eat/make. Students will learn how to make various snacks and meals throughout the week

July 17th - 20th - Abstract Art Painting - Current 7th and 8th Grade Students
Students will explore the ideas of abstract art and gain a further understanding of the process and application in an artwork. Students were learn the process of how to stretch and prep a canvas. The final project will be a large, amazing abstract painting.
July 24th - 27th - Discovering French - Current 5th - 8th Grade Students
Students will explore the building blocks of the French language, learn about holidays and cultural events, discover French music and learn about, cook and eat French pastries!
July 24th - 27th - Colorful Fish Sculptures - Current 5th - 8th Grade Students
Students will be creating a wonderful fish sculpture made from plaster and assorted other materials. They will have various options to choose from for designing and decorating their fish throughout the week.
August 14th - August 18th - Summer Harvest/cooking with Harvest - Current 7th - 8th Grade Students
Students will learn to plant a garden, harvest vegetables, and prepare nutritious meals.
