Can you believe it's already May? I sure can't! May is filled with lots of fun activities! Please read below and mark your calendar so you don't miss what we have coming up. Thank you for making me feel so welcome in my first year as the principal of Jeffries. I feel so honored and blessed to be a part of this community and look forward to what's to come! I hope you have a wonderful summer.
Love,
Dr. Glenn

Fifth Grade Floats & Promotion
Fifth Grade Floats
5th Grade students will enjoy ice cream floats while being awarded fun awards from their teachers.
5th Grade Promotion
Fifth grade promotion will take place on Thursday, May 23rd. Doors will open at noon and promotion will begin at 12:15 PM. Current Jeffries students that are K-4 grades will not be able to attend the promotion, however, younger children that are not in school are welcome to attend. A small reception will be provided after promotion. Students may also be checked out to go home and begin their summer.
Sliding into Summer Attendance Challenge
As you know, we are working toward reaching our attendance goal of 95% or higher. To keep a high focus on our goal we will be participating in an incentive challenge, Sliding into Summer. This will be a baseball-themed individual incentive for the next 11 days of school, leading up to field day. If a student arrives before the tardy bell rings, they can move their picture or name around the bases. When they have "run" the bases and make it back to home plate they will add a baseball next to their name. Once a student gets a home run, they will get a piece of gum! If a student is in attendance every day, from bell to bell during the challenge, they will get to participate in the Slip and Slide at Field Day. We appreciate your partnership in helping us reach our attendance goal!
From the Nurse
The end of the year is quickly approaching! Here are a few reminders from Nurse Tiffany:
- All medications will need to be picked up by an adult on the last day of school, Thursday, 5/23/2024, no later than 12:30pm.
- All medications left will be properly disposed of per SPS policy.
- If you have medications locked up in the nurse's office, look for a reminder note to come home.
- Field day is Monday, 5/20/2024. We will be having Andy's ice cream again this year. Look for a note coming home to let Nurse Tiffany know if your child may have the ice cream or if they will need a non-dairy substitute.
