Meet Our New Staff
4th Grade Teacher
My name is Dina Horner, and I am very excited to be a part of the 4th grade team at Quest. This will be my 16th year teaching in APS. Most of my experience has been in 4th grade. I was born and raised in Aurora, Colorado and continue to live in Aurora today. My hope and dream for all my students is that they have a mindset of exploring, questioning, creating, and reflecting so that they can be proud of themselves and have a greater positive impact on the world. When I’m not teaching, I love spending as much time as I can with my family and kids (ages 2 and 4), doing anything outdoors, putting together jigsaw puzzles, and trying out new recipes.

I am originally from California and I am married with 6 kids. We're a blended family who love to spend time together doing lots of things.
We are a football family and we love to go watch my oldest son play.
I look forward to meeting all of you and to get to know each of your students individually. Don't hesitate to stop by and say "Hi"!

Missed Lessons = Falling Behind: Even one day can mean missing critical instructions and activities, making it harder for your child to catch up.
Impact on Future Success: Consistent attendance is a strong predictor of academic achievement and future opportunities.
Building Resilience: Regular attendance teaches your child the value of perseverance and responsibility—essential skills for success in life.
Stronger Friendships: Daily presence helps your child develop and sustain friendships, which are crucial for emotional and social development.
Healthy Routine: Attending school every day establishes a stable routine, promoting better mental and physical health.

APS Student Technology Contract Now Includes Damage Costs
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Aurora Public Schools has not charged students and their families for any damages to district-issued technology devices like Chromebooks. APS has followed this policy to ensure that students and their families had easy and equitable access to remote learning while schools were closed or students were ill, even after the pandemic ended.
Now that remote learning at most schools has ended and additional federal funding for devices is no longer available, schools will again begin charging families for any damages incurred to district devices during the 2024-25 school year. Please note that the first incident of damage will not be charged. Any following incidents will be charged based on the type of damage.
During online registration and online student check-in for the 2024-25 school year, parents will now sign a student technology device contract that also lists potential costs for any damage to district-issued technology devices. Parents must sign this contract for their student to be issued a Chromebook or other device that they can bring home.
If you have any questions about the new technology device contract and the possible damage costs, please contact 303-326-1985.
