Message from Administration
Let’s hear it for the RED, WHITE, & BLUE
What an amazing job our 5th graders did today with their Simulated Congressional Hearings. Throughout the year, our students have studied the following four units: Colonial America, The American Revolution, Building a New Nation, and We the People. The Simulated Congressional Hearings were an authentic performance-based activity where our students demonstrated their understanding of the United States Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
Throughout the day, LES students did a phenomenal job assuming the role of constitutional experts. They prepared and presented oral statements before a panel of “judges” and responded to follow-up questions. Hats off to Mrs. Curtis, Mrs. Hook, Mrs. Petrella, and Mrs. Menner for all their hard work and dedication to SCH. Your support helped make today a remarkable day at Lisbon Elementary School.

Finishing The Year Strong!
During the months of May and June, our students will take part in many special events including field trips, chorus concert, band and strings concerts, and Simulated Congressional Hearings to name a few. I speak on behalf of the entire staff when I say we are all so proud of the students' accomplishments this past year. I also want to take this opportunity to thank our amazing staff for their collaboration, dedication, and enthusiasm! Next week we honor them as we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week!
We are also very grateful for our families' support throughout the year. This partnership is key to ensuring our students succeed and feel supported.
During May and June, we have a great deal of content to cover and much work to be done to ensure our students are 100% prepared for the next grade level. Please be sure students are here each day on time, as attendance is key to their success.
We look forward to seeing you at our spring events, both academic and social. Please do not hesitate to reach out if you have any questions or if we can be of any assistance.

Staff Appreciation Week
Join us as We Embark on a Magical Adventure Treating
our Lisbon Staff to
the Happiest Staff Appreciation Week on Earth!
During the week of May 6th, staff will be treated to tasty meals, treats, games, prizes and much much more!
Along the way, there will be many opportunities for students and their families to participate in celebrating our Lisbon Staff!
Currently, we have a Sign Up Genius to help us organize donations for a breakfast and a lunch! Our lunch will showcase International meals and treats from around the world. The Sign Up Genius has guided suggestions to ensure we have a variety of countries and dishes represented. However, please know we absolutely welcome all international dishes especially ones that are a staple for your family!
In addition to the Sign Up Genius, we also have an Amazon Wishlist. Many families have expressed interest in contributing to the week but requested more guidance. The items on our wish list will contribute to the treats staff will enjoy in addition to prizes that staff will have an opportunity to win throughout the week. Classes will also have the opportunity to work together to win prizes for their classroom throughout the week. *All games, puzzles, and youth books are items that we are requesting for these classroom prizes.
We hope that you will follow along on our Magical Adventure showering our Lisbon Staff with our appreciation during the Happiest Staff Appreciation Week on Earth! Be sure to like the Lisbon PTA Facebook Page to see our journey unfold!
We kindly ask that you sign up for donations by Wednesday, May 1st to allow the PTA time to purchase unfilled items.
2024-2025 Bus Service Registration
Parents/guardians whose children are eligible for bus transportation are asked to register to receive bus service each year to help the school system plan for student transportation needs. The transportation registration process will open at 9 a.m. Monday, April 8 through May 31, and will be completed online via HCPSS Connect Synergy. Registration must be done for each eligible child.
To be eligible for bus service, your child’s home address must be outside of a school’s walk zones. You can verify address eligibility in the HCPSS School Attendance Area Locator. After inputting your address, a window will appear that will indicate either bus or walk for each school level. Please note, the attendance area locator also includes a link for the bus stop locator, which is set for the current school year. Bus stop information for the 2024-2025 school year will be available in August.
You do not need to take any action if:
- Your child is not eligible for bus transportation
- Your child receives transportation as part of their Individualized Education Program (IEP) or 504 Plan, or
- Your child is a graduating senior
Details on bus transportation registration, including a guide to register and scenarios families may see when registering, can be found online.
