As we wrap up the week and head into spring break, I want to take a moment to thank each of you for your continued hard work, positivity, and dedication. This time of year offers a welcome opportunity to pause, reflect, and recharge.
Whether you're planning to travel, spend time with loved ones, or simply enjoy some well-earned rest, I hope this break brings you joy and renewal. If you're looking for a fun local activity, don't forget to stop by the Richard Nixon Library & Museum to check out Artworks! The exhibit is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and admission is free. Ruby Drive Elementary School Welcomes Educators From Across Southern California to Highlight AVID Strategies and Celebrate National Recognition
On April 9, Ruby Drive Elementary School in Placentia hosted 80 educational leaders from across Southern California for an AVID Showcase. The event opened with a special recognition from AVID in honor of its 45th anniversary, naming Ruby Drive one of the top 45 schools nationwide for exemplary implementation of the AVID College Readiness System.
The Richard Nixon Library Hosts the 28th Annual District Wide Art Exhibiton Artworks
On Monday, March 31, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District hosted the annual district-wide art show, Artworks, at the Richard Nixon Presidential Library in Yorba Linda. This event provided a vibrant showcase of student creativity, featuring a wide array of artistic mediums, including acrylic and oil paintings, watercolors, ceramics, and photography. The exhibit highlighted the artistic talents of students ranging from transitional kindergarten through twelfth grade.
Esperanza Medical Sciences Academy Shines at Statewide HOSA Leadership Conference
From March 26 to 28, twenty-six students from Esperanza High School’s Medical Sciences Academy participated in the Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) State Leadership Conference in Sacramento. These students competed in a range of medically related events, demonstrating both academic skill and professional poise.
El Dorado Winter Guard Achieves Historic Finish at WGI World Championships
On Monday, April 1, the El Dorado High School Winter Guard traveled to Dayton, Ohio, to participate in the Winter Guard International (WGI) World Championships for the eighth time in the school’s history. This prestigious national event, held over the course of three days at the University of Dayton Arena, featured performances from top winter guard programs across the United States.
PYLUSD Family Wellness Summit Fosters Community Connection and Support
On Friday, March 28, the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District hosted its Family Wellness Summit at Melrose Elementary, offering a significant opportunity for families to engage with local organizations, agencies, and community partners dedicated to the well-being of students and families. This event proved to be a resounding success, bringing together families and community members for an evening focused on connection, education, and support.
