Dear Argyle West Elementary Families,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at Argyle West Elementary! As the summer days come to an end, we hope that you and your family have enjoyed some rest, relaxation, and quality time together. We are thrilled to open our doors for the 2024-2025 school year and to welcome both new and returning students to our school community.
What to Expect This Year: This year, we are continuing our commitment to providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment where all students can thrive. Our dedicated teachers and staff have been working diligently to prepare for the year ahead, ensuring that your child’s experience is both academically challenging and emotionally supportive.
Communication: We believe that strong communication between home and school is key to student success. Throughout the year, you will receive important updates via email, our school website, and our Facebook page. Please ensure that your contact information is up-to-date with the front office so that you do not miss any important announcements.
Safety Protocols: The safety of our students and staff remains our top priority. We will continue to follow all necessary guidelines and safety protocols. Please make sure to complete your background check form now if you plan on attending any classroom parties, field trips, or volunteering.
Get Involved: We encourage you to get involved in our school community by joining the PTA, volunteering in classrooms, or participating in school events. Your involvement enriches the educational experience for all students and helps to foster a strong, supportive school community.
Contact Us: If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to your child’s teacher or the school office. We are here to support you and your child every step of the way.

Transportation Changes
Transportation changes are done via the Transportation Form which is open until 2:00 PM. NO TRANSPORTATION CHANGES WILL BE MADE AFTER 2:00 PM.
Once you fill out this form, it will automatically email the teacher and the office. You do not need to contact the teacher again. ALL TRANSPORTATION CHANGES MUST BE MADE THROUGH THIS FORM. DO NOT EMAIL THE CLASSROOM TEACHER DIRECTLY.
However, if this is a permanent change then you will need to email that permanent change to the teacher.
All changes can only be made the day of. Any future date changes will not be used.
Please try to keep your student’s transportation as consistent as possible.

Report an Absence
- Please complete one Report and Absence Form form per student. If an absence is due to an appointment, you will need to provide an appointment note within 3 days of the absence to the ARGYLE WEST attendance clerk by bringing it to the office or emailing it to AWEattendance@argyleisd.com. You can send your student to the office to drop these notes as well.
- Please remember if your child is vomiting or running a fever, they must be sickness-free for 24 hours before returning to school.

IF YOUR STUDENT DOES NOT ATTEND ARGYLE WEST, PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS FORM. PLEASE REPORT THEIR ABSENCE TO THE APPROPRIATE CAMPUS. THANK YOU.

School Cafeteria Account
- You can apply for free or reduced meals, make payments, view purchase history, receive low balance alerts, and view school menus containing nutritional and allergen information for items.
- For convenience, setup automatic payments to replenish your child's cafeteria funds.
- Know what is on the menu at the school cafeteria and provide feedback by rating and sharing items.
- Favorite your child's favorite items and SchoolCafé will send you a push notification to let you know when it's on the menu.
